If a woman gives birth naturally, will her vagina look the same after she recovers?

I’ve read that doctors often stitch women due to tearing during childbirth.

I feel like childbirth is romanticized, and I’ve come across many articles claiming that women regenerate after giving birth and return to how they were before. How true is this?

On the other hand, I’ve also read confessions from men saying that after childbirth, their wife’s vagina feels loose.

Personally, childbirth is incredibly scary to me. The thought of your skin tearing down there, women needing stitches, and having a loose vaginal opening after birth is horrifying.
