I'm not sure if it's as common in first world but coming from third world country I've experienced alot of modesty double standards as a kid. Where I'm from boys modesty didn't matter at all but girls modesty is taken very seriously. One examples I can recall from childhood were when my mom let my aunt take me to the doctor for my annual check up along with her daughter and we were both about 9 at that time. When it was time for our checkup the doctor called us in and my aunt and cousin both came inside with me. Then when it came time for the doctor to check my privates no one told my cousin to get out or look away so I just had to do it in front of her while she had a smirk on her face and sat shut the whole procedure seeing everything but when it came time for her checkup I was told to go wait outside since "young ladies need their privacy after all" as told by the doctor and my aunt agreed and sent me out. This was only one of the few examples I've experienced this double standard. Has anyone else been on the same boat?
