Seriously, it's an interesting question. The manosphere often make case that women are herd animals who follow the crowd unwittingly and they themselves follow logic. Now if you are applying logic correctly, then you'd end up in the same place as the others, and thus look like a herd yourself, especially to those who don't have the same mindset.

And the contradictions of liberals as collectivists and conservatives as individualists and in other situations vice versa.

I don't think they are against a collective group. They just reject social hierarchies more often. It fits into gender stereotypes well.

Stereotypically "masculine" men are more likely to prefer rigid, absolutist systems -- moral/ethical frameworks, social hierarchies, etc.

While they don't like competition as much as men, as humans, women still desire attention and validation and are willing to compete for that. In modern times though, that takes incredibly effort to do if you want to do so through the capitalist/meritocratic way. The average facebooker has over 300 "friends". They might be superficial, but with large modern social circles, it's becoming harder than ever to stand out through pure effort.

A low-effort way for people who reject meritocratic hierarchies is to find a quirky, unique identity.

Which reminds me... are there any metasexual draconic robo-kin yet? Because I'm calling dibs on that identity.

Terps do often ridicule the "special snowflake syndrome," so you can't really make them feel bad for not being individualistic. If being "unique" means you don't get laid then who cares. They're kind of comparing apples and oranges I think, since TRP only cares about results while BP is complaining to them about something that is an abstract concept.
