As a member of gen z I’ve observed quite a bit of my peers’ behaviors in regards to attractiveness. It really seems to just boil down to whether one fits a certain aesthetic. These aesthetics include but most certainly aren’t limited to: e-boy/w-girl, goth, skater, soft, academia, anti-fashion, femboy, cottagecore, punk, and a whole slew of others. It appears these aren’t just tiktok or social media trends, I’ve been in discussions with both males and females of my generation and really all seem to agree that one’s aesthetic is a huge part of physical attraction. One’s “type” seems to be determined by which aesthetic appeals to oneself. Has anyone else noticed this?
