Should the daily thread title be changed by moderators to how it was?

I guess I will explain why it is the way it is, not that I think will make much difference.

The largest systemic issue to prevent on this subreddit is people coming here to preach the gospel of their side of the debate to adoring followers who will continue to just add on and upvote and promote this view while shutting out the other side. If you disagree with this, you are wrong, it is fundamental to the continuation of the subreddit to disallow this.

So how do we control this? We divide posts into essentially two main categories, Questions/Discussion posts and Debate posts. Question posts are for people genuinely curious about the experiences of a group they are not a part of, discussion posts are for people genuinely curious about the general population of the subreddit and want to ask neutral questions of everyone. Debate posts are for people who believe some claim and want to defend it or are open to having their view changed (the latter was formerly CMV). 99.99% of posts are easily divided this way.

With this we can allow the correct people to respond, the members who are a part of the group being asked a question, everyone, or people who disagree with and wish to challenge the OP. The last set in that list requires that top level comments challenge OP in Debate posts, otherwise there will be agreeing and having what are essentially circlejerking responses upvoted while challenging views/comments are downvoted. Also because of this, agreeing with Debate posts is moderated more severely, which means the posts must be flaired correctly, otherwise users commenting would be entrapped due to fault of the OP mislabeling a post.

Now for some reason, people seem to have a blind spot with the concept of “am I making an affirmative claim or asking a loaded/leading question?” which is the criteria for a post to have the flair Debate. It’s actually pretty straightforward, and any user with at least double digit IQ can see when this happens, yet posts are frequently misflaired. Posts removed in this manner could simply be resubmitted with the correct flair (and many are). I would say it is the most common reason posts are removed, and we genuinely do want to see as many posts come through as possible otherwise everyone’s time is wasted.

So what does this have to do with the daily thread? There was an easy way to make this simple rule more prominent. Since making it title of the daily thread I would say post misflairs have dropped from like 70% to 20%. Nothing in the daily thread actually changes because of the title change. It pissing people off isn’t really a concern, everyone on this sub is mad about something, especially concerning the mods, so if it wasn’t this it would be something else. For those worried that people can’t find the daily thread, it’s still pretty easy. The minor inconvenience of a side feature of the subreddit doesn’t outweigh promoting the main point of the subreddit which is the debate and discussion between red pill and blue pill. Maybe this won’t be necessary at some point or maybe there will be another issue that needs to be hammered in.

Since I’ve taken the time to actually type out a response, I will continue to respond to anyone with honest questions or suggestions. However, if you want to just bitch at a mod I will just moderate you this time and not let it stand like I normally do.
