Rarely you'll find new topics but it seems to be a matter of time on any messageboard focused on specific discussion where at some point it's just the same content repeated by new members. I've seen it here, TRP, other subreddits, other website messageboards. Eventually it's all reruns.

The same thing happens to any debate given enough time. Reps vs dems. Old crotchety buggers vs young punks. Feminists vs MRAs. Playstation vs Xbox.

Eventually the debate is as explored as its ever going to get. Every argument with another person either ends in the victory of one side over the other, or much more commonly, an intractable stalemate formed by differing moral axioms / unprovable assumptions. Even arguments over scientific validity usually end in conjecture beyond current science's capacity to provide evidence for one way or another. The nature vs nurture debate is one example. We can measure the physical changes, hormone levels etc. in a brain but, in terms of what causes those changes, we can't meaningfully disentangle biology from socialization.

At that point, there's nothing left to do but dig a line in the sand, get on the side of it you prefer, let loose and hate.

It has been troll vs troll around here for a long time. People here go to extreme length to convince the other side that they care when they clearly don't.
