Does anyone know the subreddit r/gonewild? It's a place where you can share nude pictures of yourself and comment on those of others, presumably regardless of your gender.

I noticed however, that women get an overwhelming amount of attention there, whereas men are generally ignored.

This dynamic clearly persists even when we control for attractiveness and presentation style, to such an extent that average looking women who present themselves in a sloppy, self-pitying fashion will receive attention to a (very!) significantly larger degree than attractive men who take care to present themselves in a neat, tidy, self-confident yet not intrusive nor aggressive fashion.

(Note: I am well aware that common sense dictates that men will more likely be attracted to women who pity themselves whereas women will likely be turned off by men who do the same. However, I thought it was relevant to note the effect difference between self-pitying and self-confident presentation on account of the effort it takes to present a self-confident front when feeling emotionally vulnerable in the context of your sexuality.)

To which extent do you think this dynamic is representative of the totality of differences between men and women in all such and similar situations?

And if you think it's representative to a significant extent, to which extent to you think it demonstrates differences in male and female nature, and their respective plights in modern society? And what do you think is the specific nature of those demonstrated differences?

Personally I am concerned that in a society where everyone has equal rights, at least the majority of straight men are at a serious disadvantage to women in the context of sexuality, on account of their biology and that of the women they are after, even when controlled for levels of individual attractiveness and desirability.

(Disclaimer: yes, if you search my post history you will find that I indeed posted in the relevant subreddit myself, so I did approach this topic from a personal standpoint. However by no means did I mean to assert that I am above average in terms of attractiveness, notwithstanding that I may or may not think I am)
