I made a lot of comments on a post recently and I noticed an interesting dynamic. Every time I commented about knowing my worth, knowing what I bring to a relationship, or having certain qualities a number of different redditers were rather triggered and took the time to insult me, put me down, or explain why my confidence was misplaced.

I understand that humility is generally a good thing but I don’t feel compelled to fake humility in areas where I am confident.

Is a confident man a threat? Why do you suppose people felt inclined to put me in my place?
