While I don't think it's as extreme as you're making out, I agree that there's somewhat of a divide between 'typical' straight men and men who aren't attracted to women since men (especially young men) often let their lives revolve around getting laid, whether by talking about their actual sexual exploits or just what they'd *like* to do. I'm not asexual but I'm gay and mostly 'straight pass' in real life so other men do try to have these discussions with me sometimes and I appreciate that it's not very compelling conversation if you do not, in fact, wish to fuck/tap/destroy the ass in question.

However, I've found that as I get older and more of my friends get into LTRs and stop their relentless pursuit of pussy that that sort of conversation decreases in frequency; most men are happy to lay their sex life on the table when it's a FwB or ONS they're talking about but almost no man wants you picturing his wife or LTR naked, so while you still get comments about random women on the street it's nowhere near the same intensity as before and 'normal' conversation about politics/ your lives/ science/ work/ whatever predominates.

You chose to surround yourself with the people you get along with better and that's okay. High school boys are not representative of men overall though. Coincidentally, I as a hetero man always had mostly female friends as well -- many of whom would talk sex topics all the time. When young, people tend to do that, but it loses the appeal eventually. Though I can see young men being hypersexual retards even though most of them are virgins.

Recently at my round birthday somebody remarked it was 3-4 girls for every guy who came. I never thought about that and I guess it doesn't matter. I've gotten much better with men in recent years, but I have little common interests with the average bloke. Not into team sports, cars, never liked Megan Fox etc., and most people in the world don't understand what I do for a living. Recently I seem to be able to talk to men about economy and stocks at least.

I’m sorry you had to go through that. I think it’s even more unfortunate because men, just like women, have a litany of personality differences that would make not finding a few interesting ones among them very hard.

My favorite thing among men especially is an acute ability to riff and feint attacks on each other. It would seem to me your situation is a perfect one to make fun of fellow males for being so obsessed with sex. “James your 19 and probably jerk off twice a day don’t you think about sex enough?” “Billy this is the fourth time today you mentioned Jamie’s ass but you haven’t done your homework even with a few frees? Her ass is alright my dude chill the fuck out haha.” Clearly I’m not a comedian but you get the point, simply pointing out something that softly challenges another guy can even be funny.

Most guys understand that these are riffs, and if these said individuals aren’t rather self conscious of their hyper sexuality(which most men aren’t), they, and especially the other men around them will find these very funny.

Perhaps your perception is skewed because of your a sexuality. In my experience men talk about sexual subjects a lot but really only 20% of the time if they’re left alone to their device.

Men are worth your time I promise you. I wholly disagree with your opinion that they are less interesting or welcoming. They’re different. And that’s ok. The differences between men and women are another spice of life. Please don’t hate us.

Actually, out of respect I’ll speak bluntly, hating an entire group of people is lame as fuck. Men included. If you find my confession as an attack or just another example of men’s unwelcoming nature, I’d ask you to really think about my intentions. It’s not to hurt you but to help you understand that your life won’t be better if you live it on a pure Women+ subscription.

It's wrong because it makes you look like you're pandering to women. "Oh look, all those disgusting men just talk about sex, I'm not like that" all to seemingly get whatever validation you were hoping for. In the end, talking about sex isn't wrong, it's just that it's likely that those girls who don't bring it up wouldn't be comfortable bringing it up with you specifically, whereas guys would assume you have similar experiences or views when it comes to women.

I had a female and a male best friend in high school.

Male friend: had a naked woman as his screensaver, admitted to masturbating several times of day, bragged about his knowledge of porn and porn stars, planned to lose his virginity with a prostitute.
