It isn't actually a 'pussy pass' issue, it's a legal technicality, she claimed and he didn't, the judge found them both at fault but as he hadn't claimed she was awarded damages of 4k or so and he was ordered to pay the court fees (hence the ridiculous sum). Completely idiotic move really everyone knows as soon as someone claims against you, you put your own claim in to cover yourself.

Read the article - they were equally at fault.

The actual payment to the woman (half her bills, since the guy was half at fault) is only a few thousand dollars. The rest of the money is being claimed by her lawyer, and the judge has already said it's an unusual amount and will be scrutinized.

Nothing to see here.

This isn't a pass.

The cyclist chose not to make a claim, the pedestrian did choose to make a claim.

The cyclist also says he should have claimed.

This is purely his stupidity for not making a claim.
