I'm all for him defending himself, but kicking her while she's down and presumably unconscious and destroying her phone seems like a bit of a disproportionate reaction. I would equally say the same if it was two guys involved in the same kerfuffle and didn't involve a woman at all.

You can tell by how brazenly she hit him that he's never hit her back. You can tell by the beat down he gave her that she has hit him a lot in the past and he just finally lost it. You can say he over reacted, and maybe he did. I personally think the kick in the ribs at the end was too much, but I don't know their story. At least she'll think twice before abusing her next boyfriend.

Is it really justice when it's so disproportionality violent? If a child slapped you, so you decked them, we wouldn't call it "kiddie pass denied". Everyone has the right to defend themselves, including to "hit back", but there's gotta be a limit. If someone slaps your face, they shouldn't be maimed.

Fuck this guy, and this post. The kick on the ground? I get it, there is such thing as equality, but kicking someone in the head when they fall to the ground is excessive. It also shows a lack of restraint and the inability to curb ones rage....guy clearly has pent up issues or just anger problems. After my years in MMA, I know what I'm talking about, kicks to the head are fucking terrifying.

Yeah, this is way past a pussypass denied. This is "he's going to jail". An angry prosecutor could get him for two counts because after she stopped her attack when he punched/slapped her the first time(self defense), he knocked her out with the haymaker (1st assault), turned away, turned back, and commenced a 2nd attack with the kick. Then smashed her phone. (Another crime)

This is a complete cringefest. Guys are sitting her calling "equality". Nah, he beat the fuck out of her. She's probably got brain damage.

I won't start a fight, but I will fucking end it; the second blow was fine for that reason, because it neutralized her. The kick and phone breaking was unjustified though. With my limited understanding of Chinese, the FB comments were surprisingly based, with a seeming plurality saying that the fault lies with whoever struck/raised their hand first, which in this case was the woman.

To anyone saying this was too much then I suggest you look up Battered Spouse Syndrome.

A history of abuse by one partner towards another builds up until a break occurs. What may seem like a heavy handed response is actually self defense towards an ongoing abusive situation.
