One of my favourites is when occasionally an article is posted stating that male workers and leadership in the workplace no longer feel comfortable being alone with a female employee, or no longer comfortable having 1on1 sessions with female subordinates. Then, everyone in the comment section gives the ol' "Wow, what a bunch of insecure little man children, too afraid to be alone with a female 🙄🙄🤣"

On the whole, it's extremely unlikely that a woman will do anything provocative to a male in 99.9% of situations similar to how it's extremely unlikely a male will do anything provocative to a woman in 99.9% of situations. But each sex is aware of which situations are at higher risk and I don't blame either for wanting to play it safe.

For women, unfortunately a fringe type of man is the reason it's (especially) not a good idea for women to cut alone through a back alley at night. It's despicable but true and accepted. For men, unfortunately a fringe type of woman has created situations in which men (counter-intuitively) don't want to be alone with women. It's despicable but the potential victims are laughed out of the building. What's worse is that in my workplace examples, all women now potentially lose out on skill and career growth because coworkers and leadership members avoid situations in where they might, oh I don't know, "mansplain" something incredible useful.

"When a child is born to a mother who is married, the law in most states presumes that the husband is the father. Likewise, if a child is born and the mother later marries her partner, the law may presume that the husband is the father. In some states, there is an irrefutable presumption of this. In these states, if a child is born during the marriage, the husband is legally the father even if a DNA test later shows someone else is the father. In other states, this presumption can be overcome if the father actively rebuts this presumption. However, there is usually a very limited deadline by which a husband can refute paternity, such as two years after the child is born. If he does not rebut this presumption, he loses the right to later challenge it and can be obligated to support the child."

In other words, if you don't get a DNA test in the first few years (and who does that, if they don't suspect?) you're hooked for life.

Add on the fact that child support is still required if you lose your job, or your health, or get thrown in jail for not paying, or are homeless because you lost your job and your house and were thrown in jail for being broke as missed payments keep adding up, all because she cheated on you... the system is F U C C

I can't speak for everywhere, but in some places it's calculated initially as a portion of your current income unless you're what is considered under-employed. Then it's calculated at whatever the court thinks you should be making based on your skill level and what the average person working that job makes.

Let's say you're a blue collar worker who would normally make 50k per year. You lose your job and take a temporary gig at minimum wage. If you go to court during that time they'll still make it based on what you should be making.

Also, if you're already paying based on 50k and lose your job and then only have the ability to make 35k you'll need to go back to court to get it changed and you'll have to prove you can no longer make that much.

If you get a raise the mother would file a petition with the court to recalculate based on your new wage.
