Guy or girl, that's not a terribly unreasonable request.

If one is dating they will be looking for someone who is okay with them and their kids. I know people who wouldn't mind or would even happily have 5 more kids.

The more unreasonable part is that she wants it for free. If she offered to pay half or for herself and her kids or something, that would be much more reasonable. If she said something like she doesn't have the funds to go on a date, and you offered to take here but then she mentioned it would need to be here and her kids, that isn't unreasonable either.

You could have very easily said something not nearly as rude. Rather than saying she has 5 kids and isn't worth the hour drive, you could have said that you aren't comfortable with the fact that she already has 5 kids and aren't willing to spend the money to find out if they are something you could become comfortable with.

Wow. Thank you for summing up this post and thread perfectly, but not in the way you intended.

Over valuing herself? Because she has kids and lives an hour away? How do we know OP is so amazing and such a high value mate that women should be falling all over each other to date him? And even if he was, it doesn't make her value lower. Her value as a human being has nothing to do with anything in this picture.

We know nothing about either of these people. For all we know she is just trying to act cute...because she is flirting...on a dating app.

Get your head out of your ass.

Edit: I'm not engaging with anyone defending OP. He handled it like a massive jerk. There is nothing wrong with having preferences for dating; we all have them. If he doesn't want someone with kids, fine! Just maybe don't be a total dick to someone and then shaming her online for having the AUDACITY to message him while having 5 kids.

Note how none have given any sort of counter-argument. Because there is none. All you need to do is scroll through the front page to see it. This is just the natural life cycle of a sub: eventually the good ones become too popular and inundated with posts that are not the purpose of the sub. Like literally read the sub description, PPD is specifically and only when a woman is trying to get special treatment for her gender, and is shut down for it. This post, with its limited context, is just straight up a guy insulting a woman for having kids and dating. To me it even sounds like she doesn’t want him to come that far: “you don’t think almost an hour is kinda far for a date?”, to which he immediately claps back with the unnecessary insult “with you? Yeah i do”. If im wrong about how ive read this, id love to see more context, but as the post appears here, this is just incel ‘justice porn’
