Great question for discussion and great username.

I don’t have time to respond more fully yet, but it is largely a matter of confusing welcoming “all who are weary” with “there are zero expectations for you to grow in sanctification once you’re in”.

Essentially it’s the issue of an open border without a system or expectation of assimilation.

Fear of losing followers. Churches would rather have a lot of members than to hold them accountable. That's why there's a lot of feel-good messages and repulsive behavior from members.

Also half of these churches just hide behind the name Christianity imo. A lot of these mega churches look like cults or teach far off from the word.

In America, if you're struggling with mental illness or addiction issues, you go into therapy/treatment if you're wealthy, and to church/A.A. if you're working-class or poor.

Where the heck are you going to church? I haven't seen near the level of degeneracy you described. There are still solid churches out there, at least in the South.

The answer to your question is Leftism. This anti-european, anti-male, anti-Christian agenda has been inserted into just about every aspect of society. I say inserted because it is by design. The PCA/PCUSA split was a result of a hostile takeover by leftists who would meet secretly before the general assembly. Now there's an entire group of Presbyterians (PCUSA) that holds gay weddings and doesn't believe in the inerrancy of scripture. I'm sure other denominations have similar stories.

Leftist takeovers happen because a great way to control people is to make them believe they are inferior and that having strong convictions and values or a strong culture is wrong. Once you do that, you have a populace who will do anything in the name of "inclusiveness" or "making reparations." You see it everywhere. People can get whatever they want by calling things racist or making "social statements."

Islam has a very strong conservative establishment that violently upholds it's values. I'm not sure about Judaism; I've seen plenty of ethnic jews that are just as bad as the rest. If they actually are better, I'd guess it's because it's because they are also actively preserving their culture and values.

The West gave up it's cultural identity a long time ago in the name of cheap labor and importing voters who will be dependent on the government (and will blindly support anyone who promises more gibs). We are now reaping the results, and the church is just another casualty.
