Boyfriend:

Never say no to sex.
Defer/yielding on most things.
Public respect at all times.
Does not come before family or work.

Fiance:

Never say no to sex.
Yielding at all times.
Public respect at all times.
Comes before family and work on most things.

Husband:

Never say no to sex.
Yielding always until one of us dies.
Public respect at all times.
Husband comes before everything else, within reason.

In addition to what /u/Sunhappy_DC and /u/AliceOxalis have said there are differences in how much you will sacrifice for them as well as what you will put up with. The greater the commitment, the more you should be willing to do for him. If you are married and he sleeps with another woman, falls into alcohol addiction, loses his job, gets depressed, racks up a lot of debt, or any other terrible thing, most women would stand by him and focus on strengthening the relationship. There is no obligation to stay with a boyfriend who has not promised further commitment in any of these situations.

This is a good question. I guess "boyfriend" is the stage when you're still screening for dealbreakers that would disqualify him from reaching the fiance or husband stage? Things like, "don't waste your valuable time on a loser who won't commit to you"

I have a question on the definition of boyfriend. Wouldn't giving out sex to an uncommitted man be a detriment to a future committed relationship? Why should a boyfriend get all the sexual benefits of a husband?
