A mutual friend couple are having a destination wedding in September. My husband is considering (read: will be) going alone due to finances. He expressed concerns about how costly the trip will be for a family of 4 to which I responded “I hear you and I see your concern. I’m saying what’s in my heart and what I would love. And if your concern is money (which is valid) I’m asking can I help you address your concern” the next morning he still is insistent on him going alone is what it’ll have to be/make the most financial sense. 1. I’m very disappointed obviously 2. There are no financial constraints when it comes to friends (he just returned from a weekend trip with friends that was not planned ahead) 3. To address his concern if I work one extra shift before September that would address the financial aspect of the trip with no change or negative impact to where we currently are financially. I did suggest this to him (I know I know bring your captain your problem!) and he still wants to go alone to a tropical wedding of our friends. How do I express my disappointment graciously and respectfully? Any tips or guidance you ladies have?
