When I see this topic again, I go back to this thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/RedPillWomen/comments/1j0n7t/the_slut_and_how_not_to_be_one/

A slut is a woman whose sexual market value consists mostly of sexual availability, and little else.

A slut can be held in low regard, as you say, because they have nothing worthwhile than their sexuality to keep a man.

A person with nothing else may flaunt their sex in public, without much reserve, because she's got nothing else of worth.

It's these wanton public displays of exhausted desperation which degrade her public character and lead to such distaste in our mouths.

A sexually active and honest person isn't a slut if she's honestly congruent and upfront. A promiscuous person that's dishonest to even herself concerning a sense of spiritual tact can be called a slut.

[–]GrayFoxHops 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well as a guy, I have no problem with women being open about their sexual desires, or comfortable with the idea of sex. I think sluttiness is more about having no perspective of morals in regard to sex. It's no problem if a woman wants to have sex. The complications arise when she is in a relationship and wants to have sex with random people, or she wants to have sex with someone who is in a relationship.

[–]ygguana 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Is a man who is promiscuous also a slut? What's a term for a guy who fits the above category?

[–]darklogic420 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (23 children) | Copy Link

I hold up to you two women:

One is a woman who is newly initiated to sex, and wants to explore it only with her man. He is her first, and he will will be her last. She is the subject of many romance novels.

The other is a woman who knows what her body wants and her body doesn't care about who so much as what and how much, but it certainly craves often. She has had many partners, and will have many more. She is honest about this, and her partners know what to expect from her. If she ever settles on one man romantically, she might not have the willpower to remain monogamous unless he brings enough prowess to the table to compete with the crowds that have left parts of themselves etched in her memory.

There is nothing inherently wrong with either of these women, at all. Some men actually prefer the second woman to the first because she is honest and down to earth, and probably doesn't have the exasperatedly romantic expectations of the first.

But:

If the second woman decides to lie and pretend she is actually the first woman, then and only then is there something truly morally wrong with her character.

[–]PhantomDream09 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Yes, and that's an important distinction as well: when a slut (a woman with many sexual partners etc) tries to re-brand herself as sexually innocent (in order to obtain/keep a man) then that is definitely immoral and deceptive.

If being sexually free and sleeping around doesn't have any negative repercussions (as many non-TRP and RPW subscribers will claim) then why would a woman ever lie about how many partners she has had? Sometimes women will deflect and say "my sexual history is none of your business" which is just as bad as lying in my opinion. If you have nothing to hide, and you aren't ashamed about what you've done, then why lie or deflect? Perhaps they will say something along the lines of "slut shaming is wrong and there are a lot of people that judge me for my actions even though I don't think sleeping around is a problem" but if they actually trust their partner and everything is totally equal in their relationship(s) with men, then telling him the truth shouldn't be an issue. Whether they admit it or not, the vast majority of men prefer to have long-term relationships with women that have low partner counts.

Great example.

[–]darklogic420 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It is true that most men have a preference towards a woman with a low sexual partner count in her history. I don't see that as a moral or immoral statement, just as I do not judge the woman on moral grounds. Part of red pill is understanding that sexual strategy is instinctive and not morally charged.

That is why I said the second woman had nothing inherently wrong with her. Equally there is nothing inherently wrong with a man who has given up on having a meaningful career or to apply himself in the gym. What someone does to themselves is not for others to judge, but it also should not be accepted to the point that people are rendered attractive in spite of any of their personal choices.

That some men would prefer the second woman to the first is simply a fact, regardless of how you personally feel about the matter. I still don't see the issue.

Whether or not some random dude with unwarranted hostility issues thinks I'm a morally upstanding woman is entirely irrelevant. I have no reason to give a fuck what the "majority" has to say on the subject. The majority of Americans are also religious. I seek the approval of my husband - I don't seek the approval of the masses.

What I don't understand is why you seem to have taken it as a personal issue. If a woman wants to sleep around and be slutty she should accept the consequences, including lowering her pool of potential mates because many men will find her less attractive. Women should absolutely understand that and not lie to themselves about it. From a male perspective, don't fuck those women, and especially don't date them. All the caps are making you come across as way too angry about the subject.

Well if these two comments are accurate portrayals of your normal commenting style then I can't imagine why anyone with such a sunny personality would ever run into problems on any sub. (Note the sarcasm)

If you have been banned so quickly and decisively on two different ocassions then perhaps you should take a moment to reflect on your behavior, and consider your overall tone more carefully before contributing.

Also, you haven't been banned (yet) because I can see this comment. However, that will most likely change in the near future.

We appreciate people that comment, but only when they can remain in control of their emotional state enough to be civil.

Sexual strategy by definition is amoral. Relearn your red pill. Red pill is about accepting the brutal nature of human beings. Your pathetic morality is the last vestige of your blue pill poisoning your mind.

Inherent value or inherent lack of worth are not socially derived as morality is. Sexual market value however is socially derived, and isn't even what I was addressing in my post. Get your subjective and objective straight.

You claim to have come here for a discussion and comments, but everything you write is abrasive. Your replies are either name calling (people with other viewpoints) or generic high fives with no content (people who agree).

You came here to pick a fight not learn something. Get out.

I think you make a good point, but Personally I would distinguish between trashy and slutty. You can be trashy and not slutty, slutty and not trashy, or the horrid combo of slutty and trashy:

Trashy: openly gossiping about your sex life (whether you're gettin' some or not)

Slutty: promiscuous

Trashy and slutty: openly gossiping about your promiscuous sex life

I advise avoiding all but particularly the third.

I'm just being nitpicky :)

[–]Zone752 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

Why do you have to disrespect someone (man or woman) just because they are open about their sex life? You should realize that people have different goals/values in life. Just because they don't want to be like you and find "the one" doesn't mean you have to disrespect them. What makes you so much better? Your "innocence"? Not everyone cares about that.

[–]sugarcrushEndorsed Contributor 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Why is calling someone a slut disrespectful? Is calling a fat person fat disrespectful? If someone is promiscuous, they are a slut. Now if you go around telling them "you are a nasty useless slut and should kill yourself", yeah that's disrespectful and mean. But simply describing someone as a slut is not disrespectful, IMO. I don't think I'm inherently better than slutty girls, but I am probably a better MATCH (match, not person, important distinction) for someone like op and my husband who want non-promiscuous wives.

[–]NotWittyWords 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Because "slut" and "fat" have negative connotations in society.

[–]SoftHarem 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Then you should probably strive to be neither as both are damaging to your value as a person, or don't, because sluts makes the best plates. However, nobody thinks fatties are attractive except fetishists.

[–]Zone752 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I never said calling someone a slut meant you disrespect them. That's what OP said: "A slut is a chick that does not have our respect. In fact, we actually disrespect them."

Sure, the exact same argument could be used for those people, and it's just as plausible. Can you objectively explain why murderers, rapists, etc. should be disrespected? Just because you don't murder anyone, what makes you better than a murderer? It's all just subjective.

Personally, I hate murders and rapists because they're harming other people against their will. Still, it's just subjective. You disrespect "sluts" because they don't agree with your way of thinking and I think that's all there is to it. What exactly does biology and evolutionary psychology have to do with this anyway? And the "majority" isn't always right.

[–][deleted] 12 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

[permanently deleted]

[–]Zone752 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I never said a slut was "a person that doesn't think the same way as you". I simply meant that you think differently from a slut and that's why you disrespect them. Same goes for murderers, etc.

Okay, so that's the definition, but then what exactly is immoral? Again, it's just subjective. I don't really talk openly about sex, but I still don't disrespect anyone who does because I simply don't think there's anything wrong with it, even if I don't do it.

[–]PhantomDream09 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

RPW discourages certain behaviors, because those behaviors are detrimental. Being a slut is bad in the RPW mindset, so it is seen as immoral and wrong. Passing yourself around physically is not how a RPW conducts herself.

Within the RPW context: being a slut is immoral and destructive. That is why it is discouraged.

[–]Zone752 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Even if RPW thinks that way, can't we still just question and discuss it? I just thought OP may have wanted to discuss exactly why being a slut is discouraged and why we should consider it immoral.

[–]PhantomDream09 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm fine with discussion, and I mentioned it (although briefly).

Having many sexual partners damages a woman. Therefore being a slut corrupts and lessens a woman's overall integrity and value, which in turn decreases her ability to find a good alpha. Being sexually conservative encourages women to think very carefully, and evaluate the overall value of any potential partner prior to having sex with them. Therefore, it is advantageous (ie good) to keep a low partner count, which means it is bad/immoral to be a slut.

It is a loose collection of highly debated philosophies and lifestyle choices, so, kind of.

[–]PhantomDream09 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

Innocence (preserving yourself sexually as a woman, limiting sexual encounters with various men) is actually one of the central ideas of RPW.

Focusing on sexual topics (sharing stories, talking about experiences etc) feeds to a certain perception. If you are talking to a lot of people about sex, then it suggests you don't value it as much (it's a casual topic, and you will discuss it with anyone). Just like if you have sex with a lot of men, you don't value yourself enough to be conservative and keep your partner count low.

You may or may not agree with it, but how you talk feeds into how you are perceived, which is why women that go around dressing like sluts are often called 'sluts' by other people. You can't talk about sex with lots of people in a casual setting (say, a party) one minute, and then realistically expect to be considered a lady by those same people a few hours later. Especially, if you are talking about sex with other men, then they are far less likely to think of you as a good woman. If anything, they will probably see you as a potential conquest, and easy to get under the sheets.

It's all about creating, maintaining/preserving your reputation and character.
