I just had a new thought! My parents, who have been together for 50 years and who have one of the happiest and most delightful marriages I've ever witnessed, are completely redpilled, although I can guarantee they've never heard the term. My father is the most loving, generous, benevolent, confident Captain. He absolutely adores my mother- who trusts and respects him utterly and completely. There was never any doubt he was the head of the household. But everything he does, he does to support and take care of the family and her. And he is her hero – she still looks at him with starry eyes. What an incredible example they set!

But I think I was more influenced by my friends, school, and I dismissed the example they set as being hopelessly old-fashioned and impossible to replicate in this day and age. And so I wrestled and competed for domination in my relationships, and it was miserable and full of nonstop conflict. Until -- I saw the light! And it suddenly all made sense. I've written about that epiphany in the past. It's a happy new thought that I'm actually finally becoming more similar to my gentle mother. Just thought I'd share.
