Hi! Ever since I was a kid, I considered myself traditional when it came to relationships, men, and family. I came across this sub about a year ago and have been been trying your advice since. My relationship became happier than it has ever been. It is hard being completely into it, though, because I work such long hours compared to him. Things are changing and I am excited to jump fully into being more of a homemaker, although I am working the same amount of hours. He is working more, so I will work more to maintain the household. I am also a little scared and would like some advice and encouragement. I do not have many girlfriends and the ones I do have do not have the same values as me.

He just recently got a job that requires him to work 11 hours five days a week. He will be at the ground floor of the first food truck "Mecca" in our city and new bar scene. The job hasn't started yet, but will in December. This upset me at first with how little I would see him (he will be coming home as I am going to sleep), but I support my man and put my selfish feelings aside for a better future for both of us.

I will admit I am dependent on him right now. I have been trying to work on it. I have not had a car for a year and have realized who my friends are, so we have been together a lot. I will be getting a car before he gets this job though. It will make both of us happy for me to have a car and finally be more independent.

I need some tips on how to deal with the loneliness of (pretty much) only seeing him on weekends. I know I will be preoccupied with making the house sparkle for him, but what other productive hobbies can I do for him and our household? What do you do for your SO that makes him happy when you don't get to see him? When he gets home I will want nothing more than attention from him, how do I put aside my feelings and needs for his? I would like to be less needy when it comes to affection and attention.

Also, he is the cook. He loves to cook, just not when he has worked 11 hours. I can follow a recipe alright, but I don't like doing it that much. I, however, want him to look forward to come home and eat food i have cooked. He is pretty picky with what he likes and only likes the best (he is such a foodie). I can cook sides, but cooking any kind of meat is a little intimidating to me. I want him to come home at night and be able to eat something right away. What are some good simple recipes to start out on to improve my skill? We're not really into traditional American food, like casseroles, ect. Also, anything I can make earlier in the evening would be a plus.

Sometime every week I would like to have him come home to something sexy. He is completely turned off if I come at him strong. (I hope I still belong here after this, but here goes...I am not the keeper of sex in our relationship, he is. He enjoys his "alone time" and has a lower libido than I do. He gets it anytime he wants it). I just don't know how to seduce him subtly throughout the night, which I know he would love. I know the first step is to where something slightly sexy that he likes, but after that I'm lost. I want to turn him on, not make him have sex when he doesn't want to.

Thanks for listening. I am a terrible writer and still don't feel like I have conveyed exactly what I feel and want to ask. I know I have a lot to work on when it comes to myself. I just hope I can belong here and give my new situation the best start. I want to help my man not have to worry about anything but his blooming new career!
