While age may not matter for many things, I think the best advice you can get would be from people who speak from actual experience. RPW has good tips on how to vet for the right man and how to maintain a happy marriage/LTR, but most people who post here are younger than you.

How do I even start to think a guy who seems interested is even going to work out?

You could try 1) identifying what your values are and looking for those same values in a guy, and 2) looking for signs of emotional and mental intimacy before offering up the physical intimacy part.

That seems to be the sort of stuff those obnoxious poeple who are in happy long-term relationships tend to do. From what I can tell.
