I love traditional gender roles, as does my husband, who paid for literally every date. Still, no one wants to be stuck making all the plans. If he loves Italian food, plan a special night where you cook for him and watch The Godfather. If you love the zoo, buy tickets to the new exhibit in advance and ask him to go with you. If there's a movie you've both been anxious to see, remind him it comes out this weekend and ask if he wants to go.

You don't have to plan everything, but I promise your effort to plan some things will be appreciated.

Full text: Hi all,

What has your experience been when it comes to organising dates/ social events? For instance, you know he likes eating Italian food and you hint that we should go there. Would you go a step further to organise a specific restaurant time, location, book the table etc. Or always expect him to do the organising/ scheduling of any and all dates?

I am naturally a giving person and enjoy organising/ doing things for the other person and I really struggle when the RP says you shouldn't be doing this?

You should watch the Italian grandma YouTube channel. Google her you’ll find her her name is Gina. She’s wonderful. Make one of her recipes for him. All of them are great. Even just spaghetti and meatballs is good especially with homemade meatballs (use beef and pork mixture it is more moist and flavorful).

Homemade artisan bread is super easy, only 3 ingredients, but you do need a lodge or le crueset or any type of Dutch oven to bake it in.

My husband loves it when I surprise him with dates. It is my chance to show him that I notice all his little preferences by serving him a night of everything he most enjoys. It’s one thing in courtship to let a man show what he’s capable of in planning dates. And quite another to make him do this for every single date for the rest of your relationship when you’re married or in a ltr.
