Hi RedPillWomen! I'm hoping to get some advice when it comes to reacting with grace and getting my head straight after a bad arguement. My wonderful man and I are moving in together after being exclusive for two years and had a predictable, moving-stress-related arguement. This fight dragged on for DAYS and came to a someday cathartic resolution tonight. HOWEVER, it clicked today that if I had shown my belly earlier and truly LISTENED instead of getting upset and defensive, this three day fight could have been resolved within 45 minutes tops. I apologized, promised to have his back (always and even when I disagree though I'll still voice my concerns when appropriate) and to work on my listening skills. Problem solved. Except that I can't sleep, feel panicky, have been leaning on my OCD tendencies to self-soothe again and can't get these nasty thoughts (toward myself, not him) out of my head. Does anyone have advice for moving the futz ON after an argument? We made up! He's back to his silly, sweet, supportive default. There is no logical reason for me to feel like I have to walk on eggshells and I want to suck it up asap!
