Tips or examples when beginning to date someone?

I don't think you have to wait to offer to cook or bake. When my SO and I first got together, I baked him homemade protein bars and he loved them.

I think the dating "game" is relatively simple - IF you are comfortable in where you are in life and find this man is a good match for you.

In the beginning with my SO, and even still, here are some patterns that I think help(ed):

I lead a full life, with hobbies I enjoy and a career that makes me happy. This keeps me in a happy mental space, and shows that I'm interesting. I don't sit around eating and watching Netflix.

I made myself available to him (within reason). Even early on, if he was busy or stressed I offered to chip in. This could be fixing meals for him to have in the fridge, walking his dog, whatever. My SOs dry cleaner was near my house, so I'd pick it up on my way to his place, etc. basically, care taking behaviors. Not to be confused with coddling or mommy behaviors, if that makes sense.

I made myself clear with my intentions but I DID NOT push him. He knew from the get go that I wasn't a casual fling and wasn't looking for one. However, I never pushed for a DTR talk, negged, begged, or snooped. I can't remember how it came up, but I remember early on saying "I've known I've wanted you since date one, but I am content being patient with you until you're ready" and this pattern continued - HE was in the drivers seat on when we were committed, when we moved in together, any time the relationship escalated. I trust him to know what's best for himself, and now for us.

Any of this will vary man to man. I think the big picture you want to look at is you want your guy to look at you as a source of happiness, pleasure, and gratitude and NEVER that if obligation, pressure, or negativity.

And also morning blow jobs and regular home cooked meals are really great. My boo jokes that if he is freshly fed and fucked then we can work out anything else easily :)

Anyway, this is what worked for me. Hoping to see the other responses here.

The best thing you can do is to look your best. Your appearance is your single most effective asset that'll keep men interested in you.

Be flirty with him without sounding/looking cheap. Men love compliments, so compliment him but don't go overboard. Tell him you like his shirt, his hair style and laugh at his jokes. Let him talk and lead the conversation, but also ask questions to find out what kind of man he is.

As much as you might want him to be your boyfriend, first find out if you two are compatible in life style, career goals and personalities, if he wants kids, where he wants to live...etc. You don't want to fall for him only to figure out later on that he had a vasectomy and you want a big family.

Also, make sure he knows where you stand in relationships. If you're looking for a long term relationship and not a casual hookup, let him know about it on the first or second date. This way, if your goals aren't compatible, you can part ways without anyone's heart getting broken.

Like /u/happyrpwoman said, if you're generally a happy person and lead a full life, he'll want to stick around to get some of that happiness.

Be the feminine energy that his masculine personality needs by being submissive, gentle and soothing.

One last point; be very PATIENT. I can't emphasize it enough. Let him call you and arrange the dates. Don't initiate contact more often than he does. Let him miss you and come back to you on his terms. That doesn't mean you should ignore his messages or calls or play hard to get. Be responsive and sweet in your communication with him.

Don't forget eye-contact and body language which says start-and-continue-talking-with-me.

If you don't seem interested in him, you aren't.

Only because I dealt with this recently, do you want children? You should have that conversation with him because it's a deal breaker later on. If someone is child free and the other isn't someone will always be unhappy.
