There’s no reason you can’t date and go to school at the same time. Assuming college takes 4 years, and it takes you in the ballpark of 2-3 years to vet and marry someone, you’re unlikely to have kids before you graduate anyways. Why do you want to go to college, though? Do you have a specific goal that requires a degree? It is completely possible to make a decent living without a degree, and to struggle with a degree. Your focus should be on getting out of a field that relies on your looks, whether that involves college or not.

Edit: men do not care whether you have a high paying job. They just care that you generally have your life together.

You can go back to school or find a career path that you can pivot to from your current position, a college degree does not guarantee anything nowadays. What is your relationship history? Pair bonding with a valuable and reliable man would be my biggest concern in your position

I went to college and still didn't have a high paying, reliable job at 26!

Took me until almost 28 to land the dream job because I had to spend 5-6 years beefing up my resume. Don't worry quite so much, you're still very young to have reached the end-game for your career!

And you can definitely go to college now, as long as that is what you want to do. It shouldn't be for some vague "get a better job" unless you have a clear, strong plan about what job that's going to be and what you need to do in order to reach that goal.

I'll also follow this up by saying my best friend makes 6 figures a year and never went to college. She got married at 29, has a beautiful custom built home, a happy baby and husband... College is not a requirement to be successful or have the lifestyle you want sometimes.

I don’t think you need to worry about going to college. It sounds like you have a good job right now, but I do think it would be wise to maybe start teaching yourself an employable skill to have in your back pocket for the future. There are plenty of things you can learn the basics of yourself online for free or get certified in. I work in marketing and there a ton of jobs that really don’t require a formal education and you could easily be qualified just by learning some basics online or doing a quick certification type course online.

I went to college, BUT I’m a designer and I taught myself everything I know, I didn’t actually learn anything in school and I got my job based on my portfolio not my credentials. So I really wouldn’t get hung up on the ‘degree’ in order to meet a good a man

I think that if you go to college, you should also work part time. Considering your age, man are going to expect you to have a job.

Also, depending on what you’re studying, a part time job may not be necessary. So what are you going to study?

Your current job relies on looks? What is it??

Sounds like you’re insecure about present career path and trying to start over to gain more future security. Question is is it worth taking 4 years out for something that can’t be guaranteed?

I would suggest you find a way to pivot into whatever you want to do from your current career, while looking into part time qualifications. A high paying future-secure job is nice and you could also get there by doing your own business, but sounds like you have a high paying job now and would be more than financially stable for a time. Unless this future career education path is your lifelong passion, it doesn’t seem to make sense to sacrifice a high paying job and your years of youth for unguaranteed future security. You might just be better off dating now and figuring out how to make even more money from your current job, or use your current job as a stepping stone for something else.
