My original post above.

I have started trying to dress in a way that suits my body shape, and have started painting my nails, a new eyebrow shape, and just generally trying to look a little more put together. Thank you for the suggestion on Mrs Midwest, she's beautiful and very down to earth.

I have a question about gratitude. I am finding it very hard not to be annoyed by the lack of gratitude I receive. My captain does no cleaning whatsoever, and is very messy. His daughter is even messier and trashes the house multiple times a day. They don't blink at the mess or think of putting something in the bin, they just expect me to do all the cleaning and cooking, which I would have no problem with if I felt they were doing their bit.

I.e. if you have finished with something, do not throw the rubbish on the floor, go put it in the bin, of you have used a plate and disappeared off somewhere in the house with it, please bring it back and put it beside the sink so I can wash it. I don't know, I feel like I am being petty, but it makes me feel like an unseen maid who spends all day picking up after them with no regard for me.

If it is relevant my captain doesn't work and therefore doesn't support me financially. The last two days he has just played games from morning til night whilst I have dealt with everything else. He does do some online coding, which is very impressive but he gives most of it away for free. He is a scattered brained genius. But this doesn't play into the issue of gratitude though. He has admitted that he is misogynistic and in the past has not respected women and that I changed that for him. But I still feel a level of disrespect in their inability to do anything for themselves because "she will do it".

That turned into a longer rant than I intended. I just don't know what to do. Should I approach this? Or just accept it?
