I met a guy on OK Cupid last fall. We exchanged hundreds if not thousands of texts and Facebook messages. We did not talk on the phone. I talked about meeting in person, but really got no bites on that. I told him in February that we either needed to meet or go our separate ways.

We stopped talking for three months. I get a text from him one day and we started texting again. We went out earlier this week for dinner. He paid, we hugged goodnight, and left separately.

I have some reservations about him. He is 34 (I'm 33), neither of us have ever been married. He works a full time, low wage job and is still in college. He told me at dinner that he thinks he is going to go to grad school when he finishes college, at which time he'd like to teach community college. Meanwhile, I've been out of college since I was 21, finished grad school at 23, and have been working full time since 21 in a professional job. I really feel like I need a provider, and I don't know if he is that.

On the plus side, we've had some conversations about gender roles and such, and he seems very receptive to traditional roles and being dominant in some ways (not in a fetish way).

Still, he just does not seem aggressive enough. What kind of man is intelligent, but content to work an unskilled job for 15 years? What kind of man doesn't try for a goodnight kiss? I'm really conflicted on this one.
