I’m 17(18 this year) and my boyfriend is 18 both of us had a hard time growing up, him more than I. We’ve been dating for a couple months now and since I have a job and a little extra income I got him gifts for both Christmas and his birthday but while he is grateful he feels bad that he couldn’t get me anything in return and feels a bit emasculated (I guess idk how to really explain it).

He has now gotten a job which he starts soon and will have more of an income to help his situation but I guess my question is how not to “emasculate” him in this situation while still helping him along the way? Thanks
