This guy is exhibiting beta and alpha traits, so much of the reason she is messaging him is to gain info.

It initially appears beta, as he clearly is chasing her, rather than her chasing him. This isn't actually too bad, as he is in a sexual frame. Not chasing her for a date, but for casual sex - contrary to what many others here might say this doesn't lower his value much. Very alpha guys sleep with women and put some effort into it (ASD etc are a fact of life unless you are looking at a 9.5 trying to seduce a 6) - it doesn't lower their value. Dating without sex is, however, lower value.

How is this different than any other kind of cheating?

Is it somehow less of an issue if a girl cheats with a guy while her BF is at work, earning money to provide for her?

The reality is that any cheating (or trying to get someone to cheat) is pretty much on the same moral level.

Is this guy kinda shady for pursuing a girl in a relationship? Maybe. But let's not forget the real problem here... that the girl is actively texting a guy who obviously just wants sex.

The only reason he is trying to get her to cheat is because she is clearly sending signals that she will cheat.

No, I think all people deserve respect. Those in the military included. I have never had difficulty finding single women who like spending time with me. I'm no Don Juan, but I'm satisfied with my abilities. And I have never felt as though I had to ignore the requests of a women or emotionally trample on the feelings of others to succeed. Does this mean that this women was a victim? No, she didn't have to keep responding. But all I see is a guy who is trying too hard and is selfish. And, yes, I understand you can be selfish or disrespectful if you want. But I vehemently disagree with the notion that being a respectful person at all precludes you from being a proper man.

I agree with you TankVet. And I know "alpha" does not technically include morality, however I find it ironic that some in TRP community bash feminism's encouragement of female hypergamy and whoring around and the resulting societal rot in gender relations, while saying that men encouraging such behavior is of no consequence whatsoever.

Part of TRP is acknowledging that men are the stronger sex, no? That man is the leader? Well, if women are more prone to cheating, more prone to sleeping around, and men are willing to take that to the next level by constantly encouraging that behavior, I don't see how this helps reverse the negative societal affects of feminism.

Again, I know TRP is simply seeing the world as it is, and evaluating gender relations as they are. Personally I am a favor of traditional monogamy and think that men exploiting the fruits of feminism tends to only make the resulting breakdown in gender relations worse.

Personal responsibility is a two-way street.

I know many guys say "we don't talk morality here." However, in my personal belief TRP does include morality as it pertains to self-respect. And in my (in favor of monogamy) view, no self-respecting man knowingly shares a woman with another man (just as no self-respecting woman allows herself to be shared by multiple men). Note this doesn't apply to ONS where both individuals are unattached.

I understand how you can think differently if you are in favor of polyamory.

Fair enough. My own definition of my self worth includes, no woman who is willing to cheat on her SO is deserving of my cock. I view myself as the prize, and thus only a woman of certain caliber is deserving of that prize. May get me laid less, but I'm perfectly fine with that.

Being alpha includes sexual success, be it r-selection or k-selection. A man who tricked 100 women into cuckolding their husbands might well be proud of himself for a successful reproductive life.

It may be tricky for you (and I) to understand the framework of self-respect in their mind without a fair amount of rewiring of our basic values - but you can see how (1) respect and success are related, and (2) how success and sleeping with many women (even at the cost of sharing with other men) are related.

Yeah I can see your point about "sexual success," and I agree that pursuing that goal of "sexual success" and placing it above one's view of self-respect (in my view at least) would require a massive rewiring of my basic values.

Would you be ok with another guy texting your girlfriend this way?

As I don't know the guy, I cant control him very well. I have control over my girlfriend and can set boundaries telling her to block numbers like that, and apply punishments if she doesn't (less attention, start flirting with other women more, max ultimatum is breaking up with her).

I'm not outwardly aggressive enough to want to fight or use violent threats to stop guys from hitting on my girl, I need to rely on having greater value than them.

WRT to the rest of your post - these are big philosophical questions on how to live your life. Personally I do follow a sort of pseudo-tit-for-tat strategy in life (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tit_for_tat). Treat others great first (make sure they appreciate it), then see how they react. But with strangers you need to assume the worst if you have something of value they can take.

Doesn't work that way. Alpha traits are neutral. You can be a piece of shit and still have high quality traits that turn girls on. It's as if everyone forgot that girls love assholes.
