Assuming plenty of you have seen the show with Benedict Cumberhatch and Martin Freeman, Sherlock may be tall but has a scrawny frame and a strange face (not traditionally aesthetic features). Nonetheless, he fully believes in himself and what he does. He always controls the frame and scene in which he is, overshadowing everyone, including villains. He speaks with authority and uncanny self-assuredness. He does not chase friendships or relationships, though he has learned better how to balance his strong personality with emotion from time to time (and now even has a gf).

In my opinion, he is an interesting fictional case study of a HIGHLY intelligent alpha male, the likes of which we have rarely seen. Sure, James Bond, Jason Bourne, Bruce Wayne, and Tony Stark are all highly intelligent, but none display the traditionally brainy intelligence that Sherlock does.
