Im doing mechanical engineering as we speak. Havent seen a sigle woman in any of my classes.

Damn I miss english and psychology

I know what you mean but what if this somehow happened and they weren't some kind of stinky obeast or dyke?

[–]mastercheifer1 point 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Well one of my friends has a engineering degree as well as an accounting degree. Shes great with math but incredibly shy, also really pale.

Its hard to find a girl who doesn't come with baggage

English major here... the ratio isn't as great as you might think. It makes class a feminist echo chamber.

Interesting enough, I had to analyze an article in my English class about the difference between male and female brains. It is a general course that you must take in most programs, but I was expecting it to favor the opinion side of writing rather than the logical side.

They're fine, but they can shit test you on a whole new level since the world is their oyster.

Basically, hard to compete with a guy who has basic game and makes $250k year at google.

[–]_JustKnight_ 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No guy at Google has basic game.

[–]fuckin_retard-1 points 11 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Keep telling yourself that. I'm sure there are guys at Google that have game.

[–]_JustKnight_ 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Telling from personal experience bro.

I went to engineering school decades ago, and those were the most hideous women I have ever been thrown in with by far. Also some of them were exceedingly entitled and nasty.

They look a bit better now from what I've seen. Look for the traits you like, regardless. And the probability that you thereby choose a female engineer is low, but not zero.

BTW there were no particularly good engineers among them. If not for affirmative action, many would not have been there.

[–]tombreck2 8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

AWALT. Doesn't matter what they do, where they are from or who they are.

[–]miss_sogony 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Can confirm, one is a complete tomboy at the back of my class and pulls the same shit on everyone it's hilarious. Has 2 or 3 beta orbiters, fancies the shit out of me, constant shit testing. Don't even find her attractive.

The asian ones are all virgins, sex is just not even a concept for them, 99% are ugly anyway.

You're going to get shit-tested like fuck but you look 100x better next to her classmates.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sure, as long as you don't make the mistake of assuming that since they can put their logic pants on when doing engineering that they will use logic in relationships.

[–]kanaduhisfruityeh 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

The major issue is hypergamy. It is easier to get with women who are 'beneath you' than with those who are 'above you' (or think they're above you). A female engineer or one with a postgrad degree will tend to think she's better than men who have less educational qualifications or who make less money.

Being someone getting my BS in CE (Computer Engineering), i've only seen two genuinely attractive women in my program. All the other women really aren't much to look at.... same for most of the men. Of the two girls, one is a third year who i'd rate a genuine 8, another one is a 4th year like me, and she is by the opinion of many male peers, one of the most attractive women on campus, a veritable 9. I'd say that they'd make nice girlfriends since both make pleasant conversation and unlike many other women, have something interesting to talk about.(not that i'm forgetting about AWALT here, but some women are more charming than others)

Getting off topic here, but what i find EXTREMELY shocking is the 9 mentioned above has this super-low SMV Beta for a boyfriend, despite being in a school where she could easily have the best men on campus as a romantic partner. Heads are turned every time they are seeing walking around campus holding hands, simply because everyone is amazed that the two actually are a couple seeing that the woman herself is someone who is WAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY out of the guy's league. And i speak not with envy towards the guy(not hostile envy anyway) but with reverence and admiration for the fact that he gets to bed the one chick that everyone has been dreaming of since freshman year began.

There's nothing wrong with women that have earning potential. As long as the two of you are on the same page financially regardiing retirement savings, investments, house hold spending, etc.

Also, keep in mind that since both of you are professionals (I assume), that there should be a fair division of household and childcare duties if it comes to that. You can't expect someone to put in a 50 hour work week and then take care of everything at home too.

As far as TRP philosophy - That's really about YOU being the best YOU, that YOU can be. That has nothing to do with who you are dating or having a LTR with. It's about how you handle yourself and increasing your value.

[–]rollin_a_fatty[S] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So is dating an attractive woman engineer likely to increase my SMV?

[–]redpillrising 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

In my experience this sort of woman is 1) rare and 2) deeply invested in her "intellectual" self-image. She'll also study/work in an environment where she's considered exceptional and desired (see: every program to get women into STEM), which can give her a sense of superiority. None of which means she can't be a good lay, but good luck bringing her round to the "captain" dynamic necessary for a LTR.

AWALT, also a lot of them have feminist-ish tendencies even if they don't identify as such, some have control issues, and you might have trouble finding one that is truly submissive.

[–]erpii1 point 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Currently working as an engineer with one female co-worker. She is a bit more rational and more fun to talk with as well as pretty, but in the end she is still the same as other women. AWALT.

[–]fuckin_retard0 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I'm not an engineer, but at the engineering school in my university, there are some attractive ladies. Yeah, on average they're not as hot or cool as non-engineer girls, but guess what? The same trend holds true in the male population. By and large, males in engineering are socially awkward skinny-fat chumps. Can you blame them though? Engineering is hard as fuck so it demands a lot of time, and you spend an obscene amount of time inside your own head thinking about the world in ways that non-engineers like me can't even imagine. Of course they're going to be weird.
