Conversely my thought is that the blue bullshit is more about keeping people working with less benefit from it to increase profit. As a man you shouldnt block all feelings of emotion, but you should learn to control them. That's part of what TRP is, controlling your emotions and desires.

Also, I hate the word happiness. What actually makes you happy are usually the things that don't provide feedback right away. Fast food makes me happy...in the moment. Going to the gym everyday might make you unhappy, you would rather sit around on the couch. Then you go, and months down the road you enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Pursuing happiness feels like a form of instant gratification. You want happiness now, what can I do NOW that makes me more happy. That's what people think when they hear "happiness". I'd rather use the word "content" or "joy" but even those words aren't quite right.

On a much larger scale, I wonder if the "pursuit of happiness" is actually leading to less joyful people (I still don't like the word joy but we'll use it.) everyone wants to be "happy" so when faced with something that requires challenge or work, or longterm investments they won't see the value because they don't see it making them "happiness".

The best way I can state this is when you deal with dreams, often times the content of the dream is much different than what the actual dream means. So in relation to happiness, what you think is going to make you happy in the beginning might not actually be the right thing, what you think may make you unhappy in the beginning, might actually be the right thing and for happiness to truly happen you have to accept that you won't feel happy in the short term.

Our brains are biologically predisposed to fall for certain lies, and right now it's happening to you. Welcome to having a human brain.

What's the tempting lie: that you are supposedly a victim of some evil perpetrator. This kind of narrative comes up a lot, because human brains tend to fall for it. And it seems really convincing - to a human brain.

'The masters' are not the real masters.

In any animal pack, certain individual animals tend to rise to the top. But they are a consequence and not a root cause. Sure there are 'masters' higher up the human hierarchy, but it's an error to assume that they are the root cause of anything.

Here's a test: Knock off an evil tyrant and watch if the oppressed country becomes peaceful and prosperous ... or whether after a period of chaos another tyrant rises to power.

Masters rise to power because the masses give them the power. Of course, they don't do it consciously. They end up doing it without even knowing. Masters are systemic.

Here's how it works: Within a population, there are many different people. They think differently. They tick differently. They act differently. But there's one nature that appeals to the masses the most. Whoever happens to be closest to this nature ends up rising to the top. Knock them off, and another similar individual takes the spot.

The REAL MASTERS are inside your head. Inside everybody's head. They are our primal urges, the "gods" or the "agents" if you will. They are the software that runs us and makes our choices for us. They use our bodies for their own agenda. They put thoughts into our heads which confuse for our own. We are being controlled from the inside. And we'd fight to the death to defend the matrix (AKA hamster).

The people who rise to power do so by appealing to this kind of thoughts. They promise you the things you expect to 'make you happy,' but don't really.

Very often, they sincerely believe the lies themselves - at least initially. They look sincere because they too are falling for the same lie. Only later as they rise up the power ladder do they find out otherwise. But it's too late then.

For example, suppose that there's a tyrant abusing his power. A young revolutionary sets out to take him down, sincerely confusing the tyrant for the root cause of all problems in society. He genuinely expects that removing the tyrant from power would automatically fix things.

To be realistic, he's not the only one. There are many like him, and the vast majority fail. The vast majority are captured, incarcerated and killed.

But as time passes, even improbable things happen every once in a while. Our revolutionary just so happens to have exactly the right skills for organizing a resistance. So he takes the tyrant down, jails him and serves him 'justice.'

Then he becomes the next tyrant. Not because that's what he intended. He just wrongly assumed that he had a clue of how to not repeat exactly the same mistakes the previous idealistic revolutionary made before him.

See, the skills required for building a better society are very different from the ones required for organizing a revolution. The guy with those skills died in jail.

The tempting lie everybody falls for is that good intentions would make up for lack of understanding. Supposedly, the previous guy was 'bad' and that's why he screwed up. The new one is 'good' which supposedly should keep him safe from repeating history. But it never does.

Power doesn't corrupt. It just removes the limitations that prevented us from screwing up.

Another example: There's an evil corporation that uses manipulative marketing to sell poison to the masses, while exploiting its employees and polluting the environment. Many small businesses try to do better and go bankrupt. You cannot pay your employees if you don't have cash. Saving the environment is expensive. And customers don't find the healthy product cool - because it's not as sweet and requires effort. Yuck!

But with time the improbable thing happens: somebody comes up with a way to convince his target group that the healthy product is really cool. So cool actually that if you buy this product this means that you are a very special snowflake who is better than everybody else. Of course, anybody who finds out that you use this product either wants to immediately jump in bed with you, or 'at least' give you all their cash. If they don't, it's because they are stupid and you don't like them anyway.

After the initial success of the startup, it's time to expand the company. You either try on your own and fail, or you hire the experts. Then the experts take over ...

History repeats itself.

The only way to change is from within. You have to face the real masters, and if you are looking for them outside of yourself, you are looking at the wrong thing. Unfailingly.

The end goal of your life SHOULD be to be happy. Otherwise, why did you even bother doing anything?

At the end of the day, you will die. You should have aimed to have created a life for yourself that was pleasant, where you achieved and worked for your goals, and where you were able to be HAPPY.

There is happiness gained from improving yourself, from chasing your dreams, from productivity, and then there is fake happiness from smoking weed all day and watching cartoons.

There is no BETTER and HAPPIER feeling than progressing towards your goals, whatever they be.
