Summary Title says it all
Body I don't think I am alone when I say that I was raised by a BP dad. From what I've read, others have had the same fate as me as well. It's understandable; the feminazi rule has been quite a success in making weak and spineless males. Sadly, my dad is one of them. Possibly the most blue pill person I've seen in my life. Everything that he did, he didn't do it directly; he would be underhanded. He would resort to manipulative means, such as guilt-tripping or subtle put-downs. He would never ever express his needs openly and directly. Growing up in this family, everything around me was 100% blue pill. My mom was the more domineering figure, and my dad would let himself get pushed around and sulk when he was unhappy instead of, again, expressing himself openly and in a forthright manner.
To be honest, I didn't really get through this easily. My dad's underhanded, indirect way of handling life manifested itself in the way I did things as well. I am grateful that my mom is a direct, honest, 'I'll say it even if it may hurt you because I know the truth is always better than blissful ignorance' kind of person. Without her, I don't think I would have been able to get through all these tough years.
The turning point for me was when I found trp. Trp was what liberated me; it was what set me free and gave me the male role model that I never had. Now that I look back and see how pathetic my dad is, not taking care of the family, blowing a huge opportunity that made my family unable to migrate overseas, I really wonder why my mom didn't divorce him. I suppose I am glad that she is very resilient; but even resilience has its limits. Living with an unreliable, manipulative bp husband is taking its toll; I can see her suffering.
My advice to anyone living in a BP family, or maybe not even the whole family but just one bp member: hold fast. Keep to your values. Refuse to let yourself become a bp. I refuse to let myself become someone like my father. In fact, I am grateful. Where others had a role model, I had an anti role model: an idea of who I shouldn't become. When Michelangelo sculpted David, he didn't exactly 'make' David: he started with a slab of marble and removed everything that wasn't David.
And for everyone who is in a similar situation: You will get through this. I am 18 now, and soon enough I will be able to get a job and become self-sufficient. I wish that I had found the red pill earlier. It would have solved a lot of the problems I had when I was a teen. But there's no use crying over spilt milk; I'm grateful enough that I found trp, no matter how late.
