Over the years I have seen a regrettable increase in a certain type of comment, especially on asktrp. These comments are those asking whether (or outright stating) one should play videogames in moderation, or smoke weed in moderation, or only be 70% alpha instead of 100%, or wear 'decent' clothes instead of 'good' clothes. These questions are well meaning, and we have many great contributors providing adequate answers to them. I'm going to address the people outright claiming that one ought to, or at least should be able to, do these things.

Listen up, guys:

You. Are. Wrong. But probably not for the reason you think. Here's why:

Being useless (and making mistakes) is a privilege.

If you are on asktrp looking for advice, or making posts about the benefits of 'down time' (aka uselessness), or the benefits of alcohol/weed/videogames (in moderation), you are in some implicit way, claiming that being less productive and valuable is justified. I use the word useless because these things are, ultimately, useless. They exist for pleasure and relaxation, but don't ADD any kind of value. In most instances, they SUBTRACT value. I believe this to be the same for those who talk about only PARTIALLY subscribing to RP ideas. It's often phrased as 'using the Red Pill for Blue Pill goals.' It could also simply be using the Red Pill...until you're tired. Or using the Red Pill...until you're bored.

All of these things are holding you back and, most importantly, decreasing your value. They are making you more useless - this is what you ought to be trying to avoid.

Now here is where people disagree. They post rants talking about how they're earning six figures, have 4 plates and smoke weed once a week, or play videogames 2 hours a week. The thing is, 1% of you are like this. I'd bet the vast majority of you gamers have NO PLATES AT ALL. Sidenote: if you have one plate, she's not a plate. If you haven't fucked her, she's not a plate.

You are simply not in the position to use these distractions. You're not there yet. By the way, if you're going to respond to this post, I don't give a shit if you play 2 hours of videogames a week while your 3 plates suck your dick. You're the 1%. (And you're probably lying anyway)

I see guys complaining about how they dress great and spend half their life in the gym, yet Chad and Tyrone dress in dirty sweatpants and tank tops and get laid. This is because their sloppiness is JUSTIFIED by their high SMV. I can guarantee they'd get even more pussy if they dressed well. I'm lazy - I dress mostly in gym clothes and don't look after my beard and hair, but I get pussy anyway, because I have already EARNED pussy by being high SMV. My laziness is not a reason for you to stop dressing well. In the same way Chad's physical laziness (let's say he has great genetics without going to the gym) isn't a reason for me not to go to the gym 6 days a week.

What about the way you act with women? It is still imperative that you learn how to seduce a woman and be attractive, before you start letting your individualities and flaws show through. Sure, I might be a bit too emotional with the women I meet, but if you're super emotional and not high SMV, my same flaw doesn't justify you expressing YOURS.

I'm poor as fuck. I have plenty of friends who get laid more than me and have even less money. This does NOT justify me being lazy with earning money, simply because other people get away with it. Because I have not EARNED this.
