Besides working out and edging, what can I do on a daily basis to improve my life/myself?

You should definitely be reading on a daily basis. Choose something you like, but don't ONLY choose something you like. If you grew up on sci fi, try some nonfiction, maybe a biography, but also don't feel like you can't have any easy reading anymore.

Learning a new language is fun and fulfilling. Duolingo is free and has a decent foundation that will allow you to start reading foreign kids' books or newspapers, and you can build from there.

Just think of anything that's ever seemed fun or made you say "That would be so cool to be able to do [x]" and do it. Play an instrument, learn calligraphy, try to actually cook a nice meal (or bake if you want something sweet). Learn a new word (and understand its roots) just for the fuck of it. Learn to whistle with your fingers. Whatever.

Not every single thing you do has to be huge and totally life-changing, because in the end it's those little things that coalesce to make a person unique. If weightlifting is all everyone did to self-improve, we would be a boring lot.

On the other hand you have to remember that you need a lot of little things to make you interesting. I enjoy wet shaving, but /r/wicked_edge is fucking embarrassing when it comes to guys talking about how cool it is. Yes, it's cool, but only for about five minutes every morning; it stops being cool once you put down your fancy razor and put on your ugly shirt over your awful haircut, get in your busted car, drive to your shit job, and share boring stories with tedious people all day. You're not James Bond because you shave like Bond does.

Get a copy of Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. Read it. Internalize it. The dude was picked to be Emperor as a teenager because he was so goddamned awesome. Imagine how great it would be if the most powerful man from 2000 years ago told you how to be a kickass guy. That's what this book is.

You can break down any given "success" into skill development (turning a talent into a finely honed 10000 hour skill that), strategic networking of the right people, and the cultivation of experience wielding progressively greater degrees of freedom and power.

For example, an entry level hire or intern has minimal skill development, but perhaps a talent or high potential. He has no networking yet, but he'll be shaking hands with people throughout the company - and ideally meeting other men from other cool industries. He'll build friendships, find mentors, and have people who believe in him. The intern has no experience wielding power and has his day structured for him by someone else; he has little freedom to determine his own methods. Eventually he will earn more and more creative control, and if he wants, he can go his own way, gaining full ownership of his work, but losing the benefits of a stable ecosystem.

So you should view these 3 areas objectively and think - how can I grow in skill? How can I grow in network? How can I grow in experience?

Generally, to grow in skill you need hard work guided in the right direction either by an expert or by an intense self-study. So to improve your life, you need to get home from work and have the discipline to read books about your craft, practice new things, and so on.

Networking is a subject that would take too long to cover, but basically you need to be in the right place, offer value to people, make them feel like you genuinely appreciate their perspective on something (could be work related or not). Grow the relationship and have a long term perspective. 5 years down the line, you may be in a position to help them or vice-versa, do not think "oh this person is too senior to give a fuck about me" or "this person is too junior".

And experience wielding power comes from developing a power-hungry, ambitious mentality. Read the 50th Law, it is truly an amazing read on the nature of ambition and seeking freedom through long-term power climbing. You must always seek to take upon new responsibilities - always try to step up to the things you know are a little too advanced for you, so you can meet the challenge. So think - where can you accept responsibility? What venture can you lead?

I am not you, so I won't recommend specifics. You must figure out endeavors each one of these 3 components will be enriched by and just do it.

The Art of War, 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Seduction, Team of Rivals, and The Prince. I'd consider these must reads, whether you like to read or not.

Hey OP, read your username and it described myself a couple years ago. I'm not really TRP w.r.t women or men, but I adopted a lot of shit on here for myself.

I read a ton of philosophical readings to make me feel better than all the plebs out there. It's all superficial, and some of it is pretty lacking, but the confidence boost is the most important. You are kickass, and you have to treasure that kickass feeling.

Next, set a vision for yourself, where do I want to be in 2 years? 5 years? Having an image in your head shapes your path for you, and makes progression much easier. Make waypoints for yourself; maybe day-to-day for the next year is too much, but as a start, try to know exactly what's going on every week for 6 months ahead, and plan that shit down in your day planner.

When shit gets tough, and it will, remember the confidence that you feel in knowing just how damn awesome you are. Bite down and keep on walking.

When the world is gray and hopeless, you just need to have a beacon. This is what having a vision does for you. Mindlessly working on self-improvement without direction yields little result. Hard work comes after ;)

Lastly improving yourself emotionally, interpersonaly and spiritualy. Writing a list of lies you're telling yourself. Writing a list of people you've wronged and forgiving yourself for them. Revisting buried memories and getting them out of your subconscious. Affecting people in the external world positively through kindness and sincerity. Making a personal inventory of your talents and weaknesses. Surrendering to a higher power. Etc
