So I've read most of the sidebar and noticed in several areas the idea that "Good Genes" and "Good Dad" traits are rarely found in the same male, and so female mating strategy has to account for this. I'm confused why this would be the case and am curious for input/clarification from others.
In my own mind, "Good Genes" would represent things like physical attractiveness, height, risk taking behavior, dominant personality, physical strength, high levels of testosterone (and associated physical features), low levels of cortisol (calm under pressure), intellectual aptitude, high libido, resilience, etc. And I've read that "Good Dad" represents being a stable provider.
So I'm curious why it is viewed as a rare paradox that a man would have both of these traits in a Western capitalistic society like the US? In my experience, I've noticed (and scientific evidence corroborates) that most of the "Good Genes" traits lead to having a higher income. Given that divorce law in the US puts guys on the hook to provide for women and children financially even after the marriage dissolves, it seems to me that a woman's short and long-term mating strategy would coincide to try to marry AND mate with a "Good Genes" man, because even if he is prone to cheating and leaving her, he still will have to pay child support and alimony.
In fact, when one looks at the data of developed Western countries, the reproductive ratio is 3:2, which means that 3 women reproduce for every 2 men. In other words on average, a third of men reproduce with two women, a third of men reproduce with one woman, and a third of men do not reproduce, which fits the 50% divorce rate statistic. In my own personal experience, I've known multiple successful businessmen/professionals who do exactly this. Marry a high SMV woman in their early/mid-20s and have kids with her, realize that her SMV is declining while his is still on the rise, divorces her for a younger hotter wife in his 30s/40s and has a second family with her, and ends up paying child support to both women.
TLDR: Please clarify why "Good Genes" and "Good Dad" are viewed as mutually exclusive from female perspective. Feministic divorce law seems to allow for short and long-term female mating strategy to converge on trying to both mate AND marry the Alpha male, since Alphas make more money than Betas and Western divorce law requires men to financially provide alimony and child support whether they stay or not.
