Today's world is full of shit. I read the news, surf the web, and just generally observe today's media. It's full of junk to attract the reader into reading it. Hook, line, sinker. People mindlessly read this crap and then think its true. You should have a bullshit filter.

Critical thinking is skill everyone should develop. All you need to do is apply these simple steps: 1.)Recognize assumptions 2.)Evaluate the argument 3.)Draw your own conclusion 4.)Google Scholar your conclusion v.s. the assumption 5.)Read an Evidence based article on a trusted journal from respectable institute via Google Scholar 6.)Self reflect; was I right? was I wrong? Was the article I read right?

You have no idea, how many times a newspaper or magazine will take a scientific article and spin it into something completely different, then not even provide the link to the actual article. People will mindlessly read it and then think its true.

Like yesterday, some guy on here posted about "mineral deficiencies in 1st world countries are extremely common". I'm a doctor, I don't think I've ever seen a "normal" person with a mineral deficiency. The only way you'll ever get a mineral deficiency is if you have chronic disease (e.g.cancer, alcholism, diabetes, Genetic disorders etc.), if your taking certain drugs/medications, or you're from a 3rd world country and your extremely malnourished. Mineral deficiencies are exceedingly rare in normal people who are eating healthy. Also if you actually had a deficiency in these minerals, well lets just say the clinical manifestations would be so obvious. It's more common to actually see an overdose on mineral supplements.

Here's some food for thought:[Vitamins and Supplements: An Evidence-Based Approach] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mDrAQi1SwU)

Just googling "soil depletion" all we get is bunch of bullshit articles spinned by magazines, and scientificamerica (LOL BSAmercia).

Google scholar results yield nothing of significance related to soil depletion.

Edit1: Also iodine doesn't cause rickets. They put iodine in salt to prevent thyroid problems like goiter from happening. Also rickets happens only in kids with low vit D/calcium.

TLDR; Don't believe shit people post on here regarding nutrition, healthy lifestyle unless it's backed up by an evidence based approach. If you want real advice, go to your doctor and get a blood test done. Think for yourself, research things, you have knowledge of the whole world in your hands. Avoid reading bullshit articles. Beware of pseudo science.
