Often times in this sub, I repeatedly see guys saying to go to the gym and put on muscle. While I wholeheartedly agree with such a sentiment, there is another piece to the puzzle that is not mentioned nearly as much in this sub, but is equally important.
You need to develop your own personal style in terms of how you dress, your haircut, and how you choose to present yourself in variety of social settings.
In terms of how to dress on the most basic level, I won't say that you need to follow a particular style. However, all the muscles in the world won't mean anything if you are covering them up with baggy shirts, baggy jeans, and sweatshirts. When you finally start to achieve a body that looks good, you have to move towards form fitting clothes. The hem of the shoulder should fall on your shoulder more or less and the shirt shouldn't be so long as to cover your crotch. The pants should have an appropriate waste size and not be much longer than the top of your shoes (in terms of width, that's up to you). If you wear shorts, they should never be much farther down than the knee, and although sagging is popular in some circles, I wouldn't recommend it.
Finally, make sure that your clothes match in terms of color. Look up a color wheel and find colors that go well together or go well with your skin tone. However, I wouldn't recommend talking about such a thing to anybody; that way, it will seem "natural".
As for your haircut, this is absolutely crucial. Go to a high end barber (one who has been been trained professionally in a high level school) and ask him what he thinks the best hairstyle for you would based on the shape of your head. Before my cousin took me to a former high end barber in Kalamata, I had been getting an unflattering haircut for years because I didn't know any better. My cousin told me to let the guy handle it, and after he was done, I was amazed at how much better I looked. Although I was 16 at the time, and couldn't grow a beard worth keeping, I advise you also ask such a barber about what he thinks about your facial hair and what he would recommend in that regard.
Finally, you must decide how you want to be perceived socially and how to dress accordingly to fit that perception. However, as in everything, there are naturally imposed limitations. You shouldn't go to a night club in a tuxedo because you would look like an idiot, and you shouldn't go to a wedding in a t shirt and board shorts.
