Happened to me. False allegations and didn’t get to see or know where my kid was for three weeks. Luckily the judge used common sense and dismissed the case. Still cost me $5k in to hire a lawyer to go to court with me.

Modern day legal kidnapping. Of course your willing to concede your house, excessive monthly payments and whatever your ex asks for when you just want to see your kid. 100% believe lawyers and divorce coaches use this as an intentional strategy. US family law courts are a joke.

This may be counterintuitive but if you ever have to go to court against a woman you want a female judge, and if it's a criminal trial an all female jury.

They based that on convictions but I've seen some stories and heard many more of men who were victims of dv and the woman was not convicted or even charged. So how useful is that statistic in coming to any conclusion?

This article isn't just fiction: it's as normal and everyday as it is presented.

I know people this has happened to, and eventually they have been exonerated because of the wive's previous statements. Noone listens to the husband, but a woman's testimony is golden.

The article is being clever by stating this in gender neutral terms so that people will read it and care, but we all know that this tactic only works against one gender and it sure isn't mothers.

Even if they don't, there are plenty of women's groups and websites that will.

Full agree. By default and law 50/50 split, anything else needs evidence. Also by default the kids should stay in the same town and area (school) and if one parent chooses to move, it's that parents choice to not have access to the kid anymore. if that isn't done, the moter can just move away and put pressure on that way.

No there want some evil unfair advantage to men in the 1960s whose correction was 'overshot: there was a justified bias towards children that was torn up in favour of women.

Women's 'equality' in the realms of work and education has been an absolute disaster for women, and for the family and society in general. It's directly linked to the awful behaviour and skyrocketing mental illness rates of modern women.

The goal isn't to make 'shared-parenting' the norm. It's to roll-back divorce laws. You don't treat alcoholic liver disease without recognising that the first and most important thing is to stop drinking. The writer himself alludes to the fact that divorce lawyers are encouraging acrimonious and frivolous divorces and that he and his wife had to pay $250,000 to them; well guess who pushed these divorce laws in the first place?

There is an acronym used in family court.. S.A.I.D. Sex Allegations In Divorce. Yes divorcing can lead to false allegations. But think of this, single mothers make more false charges than wives. Imo that is because single mothers cannot face the fact that they are unwanted so they turn it on every man that dumps them. Listen to them talk or read what they post on facebook or wherever. I have a relative (single mom) and every man shes ever been with was an abuser of one kind or another. Ask yourself this, How can EVERY man she dates be a bad guy ? Is it poor judgement ? Or is it a fallback position to misdirect blame for her poor decisions ? A woman cannot be in her 30s or 40s and have never met a decent guy. There were several marriage minded men in her past but they bailed out when they got to know her well. Not exactly about divorce. But false allegations can come from anywhere. Just one more reason to avoid single mothers.
