I’m curious what everyone’s take on this is. Speaking from experience, I feel like status and wealth (or sometimes perceived wealth) matter so much more than looks for a guy.
Five years to ten ago I was much more fit than I am today. I’m an above average looking guy, but not much more than that. Since then, I’ve become an attorney, and in the last three years skyrocketed up to become one of the youngest managing partners in an established law firm in the area. Firm does about 2-3 million a year and I’m 50% equity. For context, in my graduating class, only one other person has managed to become a partner in an existing firm, except for those who went solo or started their own firm.
Because I’ve been so laser focused on my career, I got fat. About 30-40 pounds heavier than what I used to be, as a 5’7” dude. Thing is, I’m more socially adept than I’ve ever been. I’m not just an attorney, I’m a fantastic businessman. In the last two years I’ve pulled in over 250 clients, entirely because of my ability to win people over while being an excellent problem solver. I settle cases because I know enough law to bullshit my way into getting both sides to put their pettiness aside and reach a resolution. Our last 7 employees were people I brought in and are extremely loyal to me.
With all that said, it seems like I get more attention from women than ever, despite being a fat fuck. I’ve had clients ask me out (which I always decline due to professional ethical rules), and when I go to networking events, I’ll usually get at least one number (out of the dozen professional contacts) who contacts me about more than just business. Although I’m careful about what I say because of my profession, behind closed doors, holy shit kind of things I can get away with saying is mind boggling.
I do have a significant other, and she is basically always all over me and feels constantly “insecure” yet would never leave. Despite being very very wary of my personal paralegal (who is very attractive herself), my significant other doesn’t make a big fuss about it ever because she’s worried that if I get pissed I would leave. On the other hand, my paralegal tells me stories about all the “losers” she goes on dates with, and how she basically just brings people to me now so I can make them clients. She’s been with me a year, but says that even though she makes less here than her other jobs, she’s never been happier and would absolutely go wherever I go. I’ve told her explicitly that if I were single, she would be my type, to which she giggles and says “I wish”.
All in all, it’s been a wild ride. I used to worry about being fit for my looks, and now I hardly care. I still dress very well and am well-kempt simply because of my profession, but the only reason I’ve gotten back into training is so I can get back into my former sports hobbies.
Looking back, I feel as though redpill is a theory which does accurately reflect how the top 10%-20% experience the world, but trying to emulate that “game” without actually having that status is extremely difficult. Now that I’m basically at the pinnacle of my career, I never think about any trp concepts. Whatever I do IS the right thing, because it works and “idgaf”.
In fact, in my conversations with women, I’ve heard about guys who I can almost tell are trying to implement some form of trp game they’ve learned. It’s funny because I can see some of it working but only halfway because it’s seems forced and unnatural. For instance the push pull theory, I see guys intentionally pushing girls away before pulling. For me, I only think about pulling, whenever I want to. My “push” is not any kind of a conscious thought, because my entire lifestyle is a constant push. I don’t have time for people because there are always 10-20 clients who need shit. If you want a moment of my time, you either pay my $395 hourly rate, or you contact my paralegal to schedule something 2 weeks out.
What are your thoughts on my reflective rant? For guys, I say status > money > looks for a guy.
