Its far worse than that.
BMI dramatically underestimate female obesity due to low levels of lean body mass and overestimates male obesity due to significant differences in body mass.
Therefore, the amount of female vs male obesity is far worse in percentages than given in the article

I'll let the propeller heads do their thing on this one but I have a more straight forward, eyeball approach to show that BMI is bullshit when used this way.
The average man is about 5'10" and the average woman is about 5'4". A BMI of 25 is on the cusp of being overweight.
A 5'10 man with a BMI of 25 weighs 174 pounds.
A 5'4" woman with a BMI of 25 weighs 146 pounds.
Think about those numbers for a moment. Just as a picture in your mind's eye, can you imagine a woman looking at a 175 pound man as saying she wouldn't date him because he was overweight? On the other hand, a lot of guys would consider a 146 pound woman to be overweight and would have second thoughts about dating them.
Realistically, for a female body to look, y'know, feminine requires a BMI a few points lower than even an androgynous man. The "ideal" BMI for women is about 20 or 21 which is at the lower end of what is considered the normal range. An "ideal" man is going to have a BMI at least 3 points higher and a guy who is at all athletic will be at least 25.

Female obesity is dramatically understated.
My BMI is about 30 as a male but was in far better shape than an ex gf with a BMI of 26 in terms of body fat composition.

I'm increasingly thinking this. I'm supporting Trump not because of his proposals (I disagree with many), but because I support a mild revolution. Plenty of other people think like me-- we are to a point that many on the left have successfully manipulated the zeitgeist such that anyone not following the SJW party line is considered a nazi racist kkk demon. I am in the same boat as you. I am voting Trump only because I can't stand the PC Culture and the sjws trying to redefine free speech.
I absolutely cannot agree with Trumps beliefs on climate change or any of his environmental policies.
Then again I am in college for Geology so I have gotten to look at some of the evidence behind climate change.
It's sad that the right is so anti-science. It makes it difficult for me to have any representation in politics.

Who is the author? What degree does he have? Where did he go to school? Who published his book (follow the money)?
Anthropogenic climate change is real, if you haven't been tracking the weather over the last few years (hottest on record) or seeing sea level rise(up to six meters rise in our lifetime), glacier retreat, polar ice cap reduction, massive methane release in Siberia, permafrost melting, species migrations, ocean acidification, or the fact that CO2 levels have skyrocketed past historical records. Not to mention that all of this can be verified using a variety of methods, from ice core samples, dendrology or even micro-fossil analysis in limestone.
But I guess one book written by one guy who disagrees with countless people and agencies who have gone into the field and collected hard evidence would surely debunk all of the empirical evidence.
Keep in mind, it's not just humans that would go extinct, it would be our food chain that dies first.

No, I am becoming a physical scientist in the very field that we are discussing. This isn't a logical fallacy from my side, this is something that I have looked at personally.
I would recommend familiarizing yourself with the carbon cycle and carbon sinks. We are burning stored carbon in the form of petroleum. This carbon has been stored in the earth and out of the atmosphere since the Carboniferous period. We are now releasing it back into the atmosphere. Although it isn't the strongest greenhouse gas, it has warmed us enough to release the methane that was frozen into our cryosphere.
Regardless if that author believes it is a hoax or not, you cannot refute data that has been collected all over the world from difference sources. To rely on a conspiracy theory to shift the blame is irresponsible on many levels. Think of the implications of sea-level rise and climate belts shifting.
As an "alpha", there should be a focus on leadership and making positive changes for our kind. What ulterior motive could scientists have to lie about climate change? What would be the end game?

Thank you for at least responding with something other than shilling a book.
I have to take some of these links with a grain of salt due to it being conservative websites that align with the conservative narrative of climate change isn't real. However, I do enjoy breitbart.
I am a conservative personally, but my opinions were formed through my own findings much like yours were. The point of the discussion was not necessarily to convert non believers, but instead offer avenues of approach for someone who wasn't sure about the subject to make an informed decision.
Some people could claim that science is becoming a religion, but in my eyes, science and religion are two different approaches to answer the same questions. One is for skeptics, and the other is for philosophers.

Take everything with a grain of salt. These sites provide compelling arguments, that's all.
I studied civil engineering and was also exposed to "the evidence" of AGW. I bought it, bought the emotional arguments of "we have to be responsible", "people are the problem", etc. But then, after working with engineers and government employees, after seeing first hand how things are fudged, after seeing those climate "scientists'" emails discussing how to fudge the numbers, I became skeptical.
While breitbart is unabashedly "conservative", I would suggest that zerohedge and mathis' blog are not. Rather, they seem conservative simply because "liberalism" is out of control. When everyone around you is pushing transgenderism as normal, you know things are whack.
Give mathis a shot. He's got very compelling essays on everything from the "true" nature of physics to CIA conspiracies to why the Red Pill is just another form of divide and conquer.

I was backpacking hence the delay in responding. The whole global warming the sky is falling scare is a yet another political distraction the left uses to garner votes from the naive and uninformed. Just like they use transgender bathrooms or gay marriage. Anthropogenic climate change is a total myth, and those other issues affect only a teeny-tiny % of the population, yet the left, like a magician skilled in prestidigitation waves them around furiously, while the real trick (redistribution of wealth at the expense of a crumbling US economy) is occuring in the still hand hanging at his side. Naive, uninformed, and frankly dumb liberals all over fall for this trick over and over and over, and keep voting for democrats. Don't believe the hype man. The ECONOMY IS ALL THAT MATTERS. The rest is just meant to distract you.

I vote republican. It just seems like a rather large part of my degree is focused around earth and atmospheric processes. I'm not sure if you are in the US or not, but in the northwest we have had quite a bit of abnormal weather patterns that has been rapidly changing over the last 10 years.
In this instance I think neither one of us will agree with each other as we see it from different lenses.

I strongly encourage you to read Don't Sell Your Coat. He addresses everything you have brought up. I get your resistance, after all to some degree you've dedicated your life to this, if it's not true well that would kinda suck for you. But better to know the truth and redirect your efforts than keep expending efforts on something farcical.
Well luckily for me, I am on a path that focuses on seismology, geomorphology, and GIS so my studies do not go super in depth with climate change. I like surface processes and natural disasters like earth quakes, mass movement (land slides), tsunami stuff, and mapping. Being in the northwest, those jobs are always needed.
I will have to take a look at your book once I have completed my degree so I have a better understanding of all of the factors before I make a final decision.

I want to see this adjusting for age. The age of the average American is getting older and frequently as men age they become smaller and as women age they become obese (the reverse is also true but not as common). I would like to see the data for male vs female obesity for people born in 1995, 1990, 1985, 1980, 1975.
The body positive movement is doing more long term harm to women they just don't know it. If you are fat you should not hate yourself, you need to be positive and want to loose the weight. The "So what I am 250 pounds, I am sexy as hell!" mentality is just trying to take pride in doing nothing and while there is some short term empowerment the long term situation is seriously shitty. Its not a good long term plan and as women age it just gets worse and worse. An overweight 25 year old has a chance, an obese 40 year old is most likely fucked for life.
For these feminists who are so obsessed with privilege, there is a far bigger divide between Fat woman and Thin woman when it comes to privilege. The fat feminists are a bunch of useful idiots because they are putting themselves in the gutter and making the sane thin women seem so much better for everything.
