It was but just a few moons ago, that a young u/mpslikehalloween was about to have his world turned upside down, and thrown into the fires of hell. I am going to try and not make this post too long, but I feel like I need to include the story because - without it, it just won't cut the title justice.

I grew up in a broken home, with a messed up childhood. I am by no means a special person because of this. I grew up without any sort of real social life or socializing with people. My Mom, whom I do not know what words would be appropriate to describe this, was an overly-protective, Post-Partum Depression, probably schizophrenic germaphobe. When I say without any sort of real social life, I mean it. My Mom did not allow me to have a birthday party with friends, as a child or adolescent. I was not allowed to go out with friends, without an adult present, until I was 16 years old. I was not allowed to play sports, do karate, or even swim. Every was too dangerous, I was going to get sick, I was going to get hurt. Because of this, I did not have a fruitful social life like many of my friends did. I do not social skills like my friends do. I was also heavily bullied because of this when I was young, and also a teenager.

You can only imagine how it went when I "fell in love" with a girl when I was 13 years old. We'll call her A. For Christ's Sake, I'm not going to talk about any Red-Pill related when this happened - or else some of you kinky fucks might get erect. She was the first girl whom I was friends with. She was also the first friend with whom I was a "blank slate". She didn't know my past or anything about me. So, everything went well, until I got rejected. I became obsessed with her for another 4 years. It was so bad that I didn't even get aroused by her. I just needed her there so my life would be perfect, a fantasy that was soon going to be crushed.

So, reading all this. You guys probably think I am a crazy person. I'm not - I'm fucking nuts. But, seriously, this was not a part of my life that I am proud of, nor am I ashamed of it. It had to happen, for without it: I wouldn't be the person I am today.

So, onto what this post is really about. My dream was to become a soldier. I wanted to bear the uniform of the greatest country on Earth, to become apart of something bigger than myself. After reading all this... you think I had what it takes? I for certainly did not. But, force once in my life, the pain of regret was finally stronger than the pain of failure. And I was not going to let myself regret not pursuing my childhood dream.

My life was in a unique state after high school: no job, no responsibilities, and I had Daddy's tit to suck on for money. And with a signature on the dotted line, I was plucked from this world and dropped into a sleep-deprived, stress inoculated, 8-minute lunch hour called Basic Training.

When I first met my Instructors, they said a few words. One was that: "For some, this will be a very difficult challenge that they are going to face. For others, this will be he hardest thing they have ever done in their life". The other thing they said was, "Whatever you do: Do not quit. Do not fail yourself. Focus on the mission".

Unfortunately, mine was the latter. I also was unfortunate to get sick with pneumonia during my time at Basic Training. It was a hard 5 weeks of coughing up blood, getting only 3-4 hours of sleep, and not being able to do much besides breath without being a zombie. The Doctors eventually pulled me off, saying (and I quote), "We aren't going to let you die". I was then called to speak to the Instructor's office the next day. It was about what's going to happen next, since I can't continue with this Platoon.

Now, us Canadians have the option to voluntarily quit the military at anytime. So when my Senior Instructor, whom was one of the Platoon's favorite for his humour, spoke to me and said that he heard that I wanted to quit. I just broke down crying. It seemed like my entire life at this point was a fucking wreck. literally everything had been a failure at this point. Girls, Friends, Money. Everything. Fucking failure. Now, I was told that I will have to start Basic Training over again, or that I can take the option to quit and be back home in two weeks. In the end, I decided to stay. And off to Sick Platoon I went.

When I was recovering in Sick Platoon, one night I had a nightmare. It was me and two or three of my Platoon mates from before. In this dream, I decided that I wanted to quit. And the process was over, and I was about to be sent on my way. The only thing I remember from the dream is this. I was crying, I was weeping at my friends, "Why did you let me quit, why did you let me quit". And then I woke up, sweating and gasping for air. It felt like an immense weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Like I had just talked to God himself, and have seen the light.

It had been on my mind for a while, what exactly caused this dream. And in the end I realized - I stopped focusing on the mission. My mission was to become a soldier. But instead, what I was focusing on was what normal life was. The things I missed, my friends, my family, drinkin and partying, freedom. I wasn't focused on getting this bullshit over with and becoming a soldier. And then I stumbled upon a very, very eye-opening reddit post about the true pride and honour that comes from this uniform. So from that day, instead of spending my free time on my phone watching porn and jerking off in the washroom, I spent that time making sure my things were squared away. That my rifle was clean, boots polished, bed ironned. I was zoned in on making sure I succeed, and it showed.

And lo' and behold - I did it. Through pain, perseverance, tears and pride, I managed to complete my 6 month long Basic Training. I am very humble for this rollercoaster of an experience for a teenager, and I do not regret a second of it.

I wrote this post because I feel like, first and foremost as human beings - we all have a mission. Whether your mission is to fuck girls, become a successful salesman, or just the best you can be - you need to focus on the mission. I know TRP is all about sexual strategy - but without being a man, there is no point for sexual strategy. For men love women and women love men. But it doesn't work if you aren't a man to start with. So, go on your mission and live life like a man. And trust me, all these things will fall in place.
