It know it's become trite to say, but today really is the first day of the rest of your life. You don't have to keep doing things just because they're what past you did. Take a step back, figure out what you do and don't want, and keep those things in mind with even your most mundane tasks.

People talk about being a "loser" but no one ever talks about when you're losing; you lose every time you make that little decision that steers you away from your goal. You lose when you eat that extra cookie. You loose when you buy that bag of Doritos in the store and have it staring at you every time you open the pantry. You lose when you decide you're too tired to work out tonight. You lose when you stay up on Reddit for an extra two hours instead of getting a full night's rest. You lose when you walk past that mess again rather than taking 30 seconds to clean it up. You lose when you just throw on whatever clothes are on the floor rather than making yourself presentable. You lose when you look away from that random girl instead of making eye contact and smiling. All those little losses add up. You want to be prepared for spontaneous awesome to happen. You don't ever want to think, "Oh shit, my apartment is a total mess and smells like ballsweat, I can't bring this girl there."

I'd recommend starting off with Robert Glover's "No More Mr. Nice Guy" because it addresses multiple aspects of your life. It's a great book filled with exercises that help you uncover the roots of your beta/nice guy behavior and helps you challenge those false beliefs that you've been harboring for years.

It's mind blowing to realize that all of the "nice things" and sacrifices you made for other people were not for them and that they were all rooted in your own shame, inadequacy, and neediness.... all so people could fulfill your needs without having to ask them directly. When my nice guy tendencies were at their peak, I was never angrier in my life. Though you could never guess by looking at me.

1) Better yourself, sharepen you mind and work on your body. 2) Never let anyone walk all over you, once you do it once it becomes easier for them to do it again and it will escalate. 3) Break ties with that girl you have been chasing, stop texting her, stop initiating contact. Let her contact you rather than vice versa.
