Seriously who begs for gas with the confidence of Kanye? It's probably embarrassing and humbling. I bet the psychologist would have turned him down just as quickly as the rest of the women. Remember Briffault's law, it will be rare to see these broads do something that won't benefit them directly.

I thought my mum was different because she often drops money in beggars guitar cases / hats but then I realised.... It's my dad's money.

But she still paid the opportunity cost... It wasn't a painless donation. I accept that it's easier to give something that you didn't have to work for, but give your mom some credit

"Women are experts at spending other people's money."

But I understand what you're saying, she is still giving away something that is in her possession.

[–]srtor 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

there is a subtle difference. Men know that he would have to work hard to replenish that money. Women know she will replenish it without effort.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Not only that but there's a pretty good argument that she's getting more out of it than she's giving. Giving a meaningless amount of money to a beggar makes her feel good, and the money was easy come, easy go anyways.

"He wasn't confident enough in his approach."

I have noticed this my self, first hand. There's a homeless guy around my area and I slip him a few bucks here and there to help him out. My GF doesn't and has commented on my generosity towards him. Here I was, thinking women are the empathic, kind natured creatures. They are not. In fact, my GF can be one heartless bitch from time to time.

[–]6TLaRm4g43 points 12 years ago* [recovered] (3 children) | Copy Link

They are always heartless when it matters, they only pretend to be nice when it doesn't require any effort from her and when enough people will see her.

[–]real-boethius 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

when enough people will see her

Women act more moral when they think someone is watching. Men do not change their behaviour when they think someone is watching. To assess a woman's morality, you need to find out how she behaves when she thinks no-one is watching.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They are emotional, that doesn't mean kind or generous or sympathetic.

[–]Endorsed Contributorredpillbanana 23 points24 points25 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I have known women who are super kind and sweet to their friends - when approached by a beggar, they'll say something like, "Get the fuck away from me, you freak." It is like seeing Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

I understand they have more to fear than men do in these situations, but it is still shocking to see them completely shoot down someone who is at rock bottom.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedBigMan 16 points17 points18 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

it is still shocking to see them completely shoot down someone who is at rock bottom.

No it's not... Briffault's Law. They get no benefit by associating with homeless men. Thus they avoid associating with them.

[–]Endorsed Contributorredpillbanana 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Damn good point.

[–]1lucifa 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Anyone who has undergone a major change in appearence will know this feeling, i.e. from fat to thin, from bad acne to clear faced. Females are super sweet and innocent to attractive men, but then utterly cold and blunt to 'inferior' ones.

[–]Endorsed Contributorredpillbanana 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I can believe it.

[–][deleted] 49 points50 points51 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The bias is obvious when you simply acknowledge the fact that the show had to bring in a woman psychologist to rationalize the women and their lack of compassion and sympathy.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The show always has a psychologist to explain the behavior they show in their segments regardless of the experiment.

When I was in London last, I went to get a sandwich at the station shop, the people I was with went over to another shop to get a pastry dish. As I was in Liverpool Street, it was quite a fancy station shop and they put my sandwich in an oven to warm it up. As I was waiting a beggar approached me and asked me for a spare bit of change, I could see this guy was extremely impoverished, he had absolutely no confidence, his clothes were so old and full of sweat, I felt so bad for the geezer. I quickly slipped him £2, not much I know...He seemed very grateful.

When I met back up with my friends, I realised this guy just approached them as they were talking about him, the girl I was with was talking about how disgusting he was. None of them gave him any money, I kept my mouth shut.

[–]indrid_cold 14 points15 points16 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

How disappointing, and you knew they would have rebuked you for your actions. What a disturbing lack of empathy. Did you lose respect for your friends or feel less attracted to the girl? If you found yourself unemployed, and homeless, maybe even ill would they help you ? Or turn away to more entertaining "friends" ?

[–]Kombaiyashii[🍰] 11 points12 points13 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

The justification that they'd give is that he'd just buy drugs with it. He very well might do but I'm not one to judge, he might buy a sandwich with it, you never know. I just couldn't say no when I was buying a luxurious sarnie getting nicely roasted in the oven for my comfortable ride back home with a wallet full of change then turning this guy away who's obviously very desperate.

I didn't feel less attracted to the girl but it was a reminder that she's certainly no unicorn. I knew the people I was with are tight asses so it was no surprise.

Regarding your hypothetical situation, we went to a concert and I was only with one really good friend, the girl I was with and another other acquaintance. I'm sure my friend would help me out if I needed it, I wouldn't expect the others to help. My friends actually helped someone in the past who isn't as good of a friend as I. However, this guy screwed him over and he never saw that money again. This caused him to be pretty apprehensive about this kind of stuff, I think he still would help me though.

[–]indrid_cold 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's how I see it too. I'm doing alright, I can spare a few. If I was homeless I'd want to be drunk too. Who knows how he ended up there? They don't know anything about him, but they assume the worst. People are just more sympathetic to women. Thanks for your reply.

[–]RedPill_Rorschach 12 points13 points14 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Here in China beggars are treated as less than shit. When I go to McD or KFC there is always a beggar or two going from table to table or grabing leftovers so I'll usually grab one more burger and give it to the guy. I don't give money though, it will often go into the pockets of their pimps (lots of beggars have "pimps" here).

[–]SecondQuarterLife 44 points45 points46 points 12 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Whenever I see some hobo or dude working in bad conditions ie construction workers in the middle of a cold ass winter I always think - that could have been me, I'm lucky to be in my situation.

So I do give money to homeless/help the less fortunate if I can.

Women don't have these thoughts at all. I believe they are completely unable to put themselves in other's shoes. Their 'sympathy' relies on how things make them feel. Disheveled beggar asking for money - "Ewwww gross get away from me you creep". PETA asking for money with ads full of puppies and kittens in funny hats - "Awwww how cute, I want to help the little baby animals, here's 200 from my husband's account"

[–]ekjohnson9 15 points16 points17 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

In my city there are people who do it as a hobby to supplement their income. I only give food and hot drinks during the winter.

[–]troll_bot_v1 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I've read in the newspapers that in some cities it's on a pimping system and pan handlers need to pay their pimp for access to the best street corners.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That happens all over the world, India being the most obvious where children are physically injured in order to become professional beggars. Why not in America too?

[–]KJL13 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Do not put construction workers and hobos in the same category. One wakes up and busts his ass for a paycheck and the other sit on his ass and begs. Yeah the job may suck, but they don't need pity. A lot of those guys are making good money and many of them like their job. I liked it when I was doing it even though it was a tough shitty job.

[–]thedeathofgod 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thank you for saying what I was a going to say. I will level one correction at you. Hobos are not bums. Hobos work. Bums beg.

[–]KJL13 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fair enough but the hobo I knew got by sweeping parking lots. Not exactly hard work.

Tithing is possibly the furthest kind of donation from giving charity that exists. In exactly zero cases does tithing ever go to helping the less fortunate. Furthermore, it's not an altruistic act. It's a fee you pay to make the unprovable fantasy you base your life on seem more real, and thus keep you further from having to live in reality and deal with the fact that you know nothing about the nature of existence, and most likely, just like everyone who has ever lived, you will live your entire life and die without ever knowing more about what's really going on in reality than you did the day you were born.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

This does not surprise me. I recently went to a SE asian country with 3 friends, 2 of which are girls. There were a lot of disfigured people begging or selling novelty stuff, some slightly disabled folks selling useless shit as well. My buddy and I always gave money and bought stuff (as I'd expect any empathetic person would, what was pocket change for us was a lot of money for them). The girls, however, didn't give a cent.

[–]6TLaRm4g 18 points18 points18 points 12 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

In Asia people intentionally disfigure themselves to get money. I can understand why they don't want to support it. Parents raise kids in cages to make them freaks just so they can beg. No money for them = less freaks.

[–]NJBarFly 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Why? Seems like a lot of effort and sacrifice just to be a homeless begger. Why wouldn't they just put the same effort into bettering themselves?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's not clear how much money they make from this. If it is much enough then it could be worth it for parents that know nothing more than beg on the streets.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Same in ee. Begging is generally runed by organised crime. If you are slow or even retarded you can only make money by begging. And the sad fact is that a mutilated begger is more profitable

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Are you serious? Have you seen the places this shit happens in? There is very little, effectively no chance for most of them to better themselves. Begging is a profession in some of those places and children are even intentionally disfigured in order to prepare them for a life as a beggar. What they're doing actually is something that betters them.

It's a very old story. I have no idea how common it is these days or where, but wherever there is support for beggars, there is an incentive system creating beggars...

[–]MartialWay 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's been going on for hundreds of years. Crippled kids are big business.

As a red piller you shouldn't reject reality just because it conflicts with your world view.

If all of human reality was transcribed on the internet it would be awesome. And I suspect you would want those articles in english for your convenience.

But try this to blow your mind, next time your in my part of the world get a homeless beggar a shot of grain, and ask him whats the craziest shit he saw, then another shot and then repeat the process with 9 others or until you're satisfied. I guarantee you that 80% of the beggers will tell you how they where crippled at a young age or at an old age(when they became useless) sometimes by their family (other times by a "bad man" while their family wached).

Reality is as sick as the stories people tell you, because what one person comes up with as a story, others came up with it and made it into real life, because he lacks he doesn't give a fuck and knows how powerless laws actually are.

What is this?

[–]1lucifa 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've heard about this in Russia. They have beggar 'Pimps' that take a % of whatever they receive, and will maim/disfigure young children as the donations increase dramatically.

[–]hashtagpound2point2 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My girl roommate told me a few months back about giving money and a cigarette to some homeless girl. She wasn't really thinking about what she was saying when she told me she gave her stuff because she said "I usually don't give homeless people money, but she was fairly young and a girl."

I asked her "So you don't give money to homeless men?"

She responded "No, it's just. I don't know," shrugged, and that ended the conversation.

[–]1 Endorsed Contributormordanus 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They would have given if the beggar was a woman. Women have almost no ability to care about men and their plight. They aren't programmed to give a shit about anyone other than their alpha and children. Occasionally you will see a woman that will give of her money or time but it's rare as hell. Women are recipients and men are givers. In love, money, time etc.

[–]Kernes 17 points18 points19 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

But when it comes to some fund or tax money then women are very generous.

You mean at receiving welfare and tax money, not giving. Right?

[–]smokeybehr 8 points9 points10 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I don't give anybody anything. I've been burned too many times by bullshit artists and those that reject my generosity. If you're truly hungry, you won't throw the food I just gave you back at me.

[–]no_game_player 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I bought a legitimately crazy guy KFC one time. I had the extra time and was just curious to see if that's really what he wanted with the money. Yup.

But I hear ya. Like the time I had a guy asking for money and claimed he hadn't been drinking, when I could smell the alcohol on his breath (and I have a horrible sense of smell). Pisses me off when people are dishonest about it.

I don't encounter it a lot anymore, not being in the core of the city right now.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I know AWALT but there was one time I was hanging out with a chick I've known for a while and we were headed home when a street child came begging for loose change. I was quick to wave and say no to him so the girl and I could just keep walking toward our ride, but the kept insisting. After a few more meters of walking the girl I was with relented and had us both initiate a short conversation with the kid. Kid told us a story about how he had to stop going to school etc. so this girl I was with fished out all the coins she had in her purse to give to him. I don't know if she'd have done that sort of thing if I weren't there with her, but on that night she was generous; more generous than I was, at least.

[–]FEMINAZISCUM 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

She just wanted him to leave you guys alone

There's always more than one way to skin a cat...

Even if you just want to get rid of someone you can (a) threaten them, (b) ignore them, (c) hurt them, physically or verbally, or (d) give them what they want.

Even if it was only for convenience, it was still finding a way of not losing anything she needed and getting him what he wanted. She could have reacted instead like the other women described in this thread....

[–]FEMINAZISCUM 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Very true. Gotta give props where its due.
That said it could be argued that the main motivation for giving him money was to make him go away since they both ignored him the first time around.
To me it could go either way

[–]2johnnight 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So this week I was walking back home from work. I was standing next to a trash can and some poor guy came up to look inside for beer cans or something. I took out my pack and offered him a cigarette and he was happy to get it.

A few streets later, as I was walking and smoking, some younger guy asked me for a cigarette. He got a flat out "No".

Through out of history, being a philanthropy and caring, nourishing, and enhancing what it is to be a human, and having a strong love of humanity is something that in men's DNA. If you look around 95% of philanthropy are men. even those Hollywood prima donnas, athletics, and other celebrities are way more too generous comparing to female celebrities.

"Women have no sympathy"

[–]Aaron565 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

"I dont have the money." Bullshit you cunt. The only one that actually was straightforward said "Go beg someone else"; at-least she was honest.

The psychologist was even worse. Yes blame their rejections on him and completely ignore that not even one woman accepted.

[–]1Zackcid 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As someone who works in service and gets tips from time to time, I can testify. It almost blew my mind the other day when a group of women tipped me and each gave me a hug for my generosity. At the point in the year, I had pretty much accustomed myself to never expecting tips from women (especially after I'd gotten lied to on a few occasions -- they'd promise me tips after getting a parking spot, but they'd escape/ditch me as soon as they parked) and this was a first to me.

This is the sex that's used to getting free stuff all throughout their lives, after all. But it was still refreshing to have that happen.

[–]deville05 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Compassion is a manly trait. Women have "awww cute i want one" reactions at everything. When men genuinely feel, they help.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Fuck I almost teared up for this good souled guy. Fucking good guy jose right here.

[–]lawofmurray -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That psychologist fucking pissed me off.

Now, there is an explanation here, but it's not about the "confidence" of a fucking beggar. It has to do with how women view men in these sorts of situations: women, when alone, are afraid of men and especially afraid of foreign men. Because of their perceived vulnerability (which isn't groundless or anything), they're willing to make snap judgments about a person's character based on his accent and the color of their skin. Racism is to blame, but leave it to the academic (I fucking hate academics) to curtain the more accurate explanation and shift the blame to the guy looking for a couple bucks. I guarantee that if this guy was white or asian, he'd receive a completely different response.

(Incidentally, I'm assuming that men and women are equally generous on average, but I could be wrong. Anyone here have any literature on the subject I could check out?)
