I just finished a shift where it literally took three women to do the job I, a man, did after our task rotation. No bullshit. It was fucking depressing to watch.

I was loading 23kg (50.7 lbs) items into crates for different destinations while scanning the address barcode and the crate code and moving the full crates with a jack and weighing them, then replacing the crates with empties.

The women; It took two of them to carry one of the articles, and a third did the scanning while the other two loaded the crate. Even with three on the job the backlog started immediately. When one crate filled, while one woman got rid of it, the other two looked at the next article on the rollers which was for that crate being weighed because the two of them just fucking stood there waiting for the replacement crate. Neither of them thought to, or wanted to look at the next article, or the next until there was one they could have loaded into another destination crate.

It was excruciating to watch. Close the gender work gap!
