It's technically true that there's more estrogen in our water supplies, but it's an extremely small amount (at the parts per billion level).

It's also true that there's a correlation between the advent of the birth control pill, and the pussification of the typical first-world male, but there have been SO MANY other changes, both social, and environmental, that there's no way you could conclude that birth control is the cause.

We wouldn't have even been testing drinking water with equipment that could detect contaminates at the parts-per-billion level back then - for all we know, similar amounts of estrogen could have been present beforehand.

I'm not saying it's impossible, because it isn't. But I'm very skeptical that it's anything notable, and I'm also a chemistry major(not that it makes me expert), so it's not like I'm just talking out of my ass here, either.

Living a clean life, having a proper diet and exercise goes a long way in helping keep estrogen in check.

This means eating lots of animal protein and fresh vegetables, at least your weight in ounces in water a day(I purchase natural spring water in bulk, I don't drink from the tap) and exercising daily. Some studies indicate large daily doses of soy may play a role in converting free Testosterone to Estrogen. Don't heat your food up in plastic containers. Free range chicken and grass fed beef instead of animals primarily fed soy based feed.

There are a few natural estrogen blockers, zinc, grape seed extract, myomin(chinese herbs) some data suggests they may help. There are pharmaceutical medications for aromatase inhibitors, but good luck getting a Dr. to prescribe them.

There are plenty of articles out there about Testosterone, Estrogen, the conversion process and how Shbg binds to free Testosterone making it unavailable to the receptors in your muscles. If you are close to 30 years old every man should get a blood panel done. It will show Testosterone, Free testosterone, estradiol and most importantly SHBG along with your normal metabolic panel. Remember Cholesterol is the building block for your testicles to make testosterone, going on a low cholesterol diet is not healthy for a man.

A normal testosterone number(350-1100, depending on age) means nothing. You could have a normal number, but if your SHGB is high and it is binding to what testosterone you do have it essentially lets the Estradiol hormone go unchecked. This could lead to you having a nice set of man titties.......

As I started getting older I have taken an active role in my healthcare. Not happy with one Dr. go to 30 of them, eventually you will find someone to work with you and the more education you have about your own body goes a long way to building a solid relationship with your Physician....

Citations please? I have family who worked in water treatment plants. I asked them about this birth control oestrogen in the water supply thing and they are adamant that it is a myth. The whole "pussy men around" thing is easily explained by cultural shifts.

You will get more xeno estrogens from BPAs leeching out of plastic pop bottles or plastic food packaging than tap water. However there is more than estrogen in tap water, like mental patient medications and they admitted recently they overdosed us with fluoride for decades. Combine all this plus a social environment that suppresses masculinity, yes, we are socially and biologically being weakened. In my 40 years I have seen more ratios of people get fatter (estrogen is a trigger to store fat btw) and more weak willed. Food has more crap synthetic ingredients packed in toxic plastic now. Women are increasingly popping anti-depressants like candy because they are living in conflict to the design of nature. Men are increasingly passive lumps with a Y chromosome trapped in depression and underachievement and are powerless to do what nature wired them too as well. Men and women are dysfunctional in large ratios now but nature will knock us back on our ass eventually, we will overcome it or go extinct.

This bit is questionnable. The waste water goes into rivers and seas, not back into the reservoirs and aquifers. Once into the sea, it's diluted beyond recognition, and even less goes around via rainfall and back into the water supply.

Bigger issues: pseudo-hormones in plastics and the fact that a large proportion of women are acting (and voting) like pregnant women due to being on the pill.

Male testosterone is falling, but it's not directly because of the pill.

Estrogen from birth control products is extremely hard to filter out of the water supply. It ends up back in drinking water for men to consume, lowering testosterone levels.

In every tin and can and metal contained food there is a plastic lining to stop the food's acidity absorbing the metal, this plastic lining has been proven to leak in to the food and fools the body in to thinking its estrogen, its all around the world.

All plastic containers and plastic wrappers leak estrogen in to the food you eat.

Once my gf heated up a can on an open fire, for the next three days she went overboard emotional and sensitive boobs, moods, and crying, and general irratic behaviour. All due to high estrogen caused by the heated plastic leaking in to the food.

Its bad enough sometimes with her pill, but that event was proof.

Avoid any plastic or metal packaging, or bottles unless they are glass.

Eat nothing but clearn fresh organic vegetables, and get your meat from the butcher or meat counter never from the supermarket sat in plastic wrap.

Estrogen and other hormones are pretty insoluble in water, although they do end up in the water supply. However, they may also end up in our food supply, and the compounds are pretty stable, making their consumption all the more likely. Scary
