I'm 21 years old, and this is going to be my first time breaking up with a girl. If this girl didn't mean anything to me, I would just meet up with her, tell her i'm breaking up, and that's it, but I don't want to do that this time.

This girl is my 'high school sweet heart'. We've been together for four years, and we are extremely close, we love each other, we have a lot of fun together. I care about her, and her feelings, and it's why I don't want to just say "we're over, bye!"

This isn't a normal case. She isn't like a lot of girls. I'm not breaking up with her because she cheated (she didn't), i'm not breaking up with her because i'm too beta (i'm the leader/alpha in the relationship, and she ADORES me). I'm breaking up with her because she has become the 'beta' in this relationship. She lives to serve me. She wants to always make me happy, she always wants to hang out. She's become to comfortable, and one of the biggest reasons I want to break up is because she's started gaining weight. Now she's not a lot fatter then when we met, but I know where this will lead her, and I do not want to be with her a year from now when she's most likely going to weight 50+ lbs more.

Should I mention that she is gaining weight, and I no longer want to fuck her every hour of the day, like I used to? Should I mention that she is too absorbed in me, and it makes me feel suffocated? Should I mention that I feel like i'm missing out on LIFE, by sticking with the same girl since high school? I want to go out and live!

I love this girl, and I wish it didn't have to end, but she no longer provides benefit to my life, and as a 21 year old, I feel like I need to cut out all things that don't benefit me, and replace them with things that will help me in my life.

So, how do I break up with her? I am completely and utterly confused.
