recently its dawned upon me that posting on social media is becoming increasingly pointless the older you get, especially as a dude. im 22 now, about to finish college, and im kind of wondering wtf is the point anymore of all my social medias?

how do you these things other than just looking narcissistic? i want to keep my instagram engaging/growing and as tool to maintain connections but idk, it just seems difficult to do that without being a cringe old influencer wanna be. it seems like guys get the most use out of social media between the ages of like 16-21. after that, it seems that social media engagement from friends collapses pretty fast as real life sets in. men start becoming judged on things such as their finances, stability etc much more heavily. while on the other hand young women can easily keep using instagram until they're like 25ish and their social media pages still grow rapidly just off looks tbh.

the only time ive recently had success/high engagement with my instagram posts is when i seem to post things that revolve around places ive traveled, people im with or big events in my life.

TLDR: how do you guys leverage social media to keep DM'ing girls, keep your page fresh, and overall justify having these apps on your phone as you get older?
