Mastering indifference is the highest stage in emotional development of a man. It requires you to completely separate your EGO from your actions.
General emotional cycle (probably you all know) - Doubtful, optimism, excitement, euphoria, denial , panic, grief/desperation , depression, capitulation, apathy, indifference and doubtful.
Explanation of the emotional cycle is pretty simple. You always start by being doubtful/skeptic. You achieve small successes(because you were careful) which slowly converts into optimism and you ride the train which takes you to the highest point of euphoria.
The reality kicks in which will be denied emotionally as other's mistake/badluck. You start going downhill by panicking first and then crying. You get depressed and then loose control over your life. During the recovery process, you start being apathetic towards everything (ex: life sucks! Everyone only care about themselves!). Once you accept all the harsh realities of life you start being indifferent because you realize that nothing really matters in life(no, not even your n-count).
There are certain steps to achieve that. One of the greatest benefit of being indifferent is that you stop having those anxiety issues and stress.
1) Separating yourself from your EGO: Ego is not a bad thing but it controls your decisions and make them biased. To separate, you must first stop taking yourself too seriously and then start looking at yourself from a third-eyed perspective. Treat your ego and yourself as two different beings. Think of your ego as a child that constantly whines about everything.
This takes some training and practice but once you understand the process, it will become a second nature.
2)Maintaining a meditative mindset: Some people are always too excited and suffer from constant emotional highs and lows (ex: women). They generally can't meditate because it's impossible for a child(ego) to sit at a place and do nothing. Think about it. Do party-cockriding-carousel girls meditate? Or young boys? As you get older, you will naturally understand the benefits of meditation.
Most of you think as meditation that's something hard and useless. They generally assume that you have to suppress your thoughts and sit in some weird positions for a few minutes->hours.
Meditation takes months to learn(but it's worth it because most people don't have the patience/self-control).Start meditating by breathing slowly, deeply with your stomach. You feel it slightly painful because you probably don't use your diaphragm to breathe.
Once you are comfortable breathing through your stomach, then select a white noise music that suits you (campfire, old clock are my favorite sounds). Plugin your headphones and just start breathing slowly through your stomach. Do it for a few days, especially during those five minutes when you are free. Don't close your eyes or assume a meditative position yet. Perform this for a week. You'll notice yourself getting accustomed to it gradually.
Then, the next step is to stop thinking about everything that comes through your mind. This is the hardest and the most misunderstood step. You should not suppress your thoughts. Instead, just adopt that third person look I mentioned above and imagine as if your thoughts are flowing through your brain and you're watching it like a movie. Over a period of a few weeks, the movie keeps getting shorter and shorter and you'll find that you can actually control your thoughts! The next step is to find a wallpaper/word/sentence for you to look at or just going for the good ol' "imagine air flowing through your body as you breathe" thing.
By this time you probably might have dozed off a few times while trying to breathe deeply while controlling your thoughts because it's so fucking relaxing. The next step is to train your body into a position that you're comfortable sitting to meditate so that you don't doze off. Typical posture is sitting straight without anything to lean so that your back isn't resting(Yes, this is the main reason for a meditation posture. Nor for some energy chakra bullshit.)
Trust me, once meditation becomes natural to you (takes a few months) you'll find your emotional and physical self control off the fucking charts. You'll start to be indifferent regarding almost everything because you're naturally will be in a very relaxed state.
3)Thinking about death: Death, is the ultimate idea that forces us to prioritize our life because it is limited. Once you completely realize that your life is limited, you just stop caring about little things and only do those that actually matter to you. Start thinking about death every week (or everyday if it doesn't creep you out). Steve jobs did the same thing. He died changing the world.
The problem with thinking about death is that it creates depression because most of us aren't intellectually capable enough to handle this tiny reality. This is where philosophy comes in.
Philosophy is not bullshit or boring. Philosophy is meant for thinking. It helps you develop faith and restructure yourself from the ground. It provides the tools for you to be a better person. So, stop treating it like a history/boring book and look at it as a thinking manual.
The concepts of death are clearly explained in stoic and epicurean philosophy. These are the only two schools of philosophy that are redpilled. Even though stoics believe in God, these philosophers teach that indifference to pain, grief will lead you to a better life. Read about it (it will be hard to understand but it's worth it). Epicureans believe that life and death are just permutations of matter and that humans are pleasure seeking creatures. Pleasure(physical and mental) is the primary goal of epicureans. This school of thought is completely red-pilled.
For your sake, read philosophy. It develops faith in yourself and makes you a better man.
All of the steps I mentioned above take a lot of time, probably a few years. In fact, you don't need to be indifferent or learn meditation to get pussy , if that's your goal. But, after a few years of banging really hot chicks you understand that your life is completely shallow and without any deep meaning because slaying pussy gets boring. That's where meditation, philosophy come in. They help you to be a better and wise person. I don't assume that beginners will understand this post anyway.
I'm open for any discussions.
