The police did not see what happened before. As soon as they arrived he was the aggressor. I would let the matter rest after she stopped. She's on drugs and there was no serious damage. Let the ploice take care of her.

This.
Imagine if you were a police officer and saw an assault. Who would you rather subjugate first, the guy doing the beating or the guy being beaten? There's also the chance that the guy doing the beating goes overboard and you do not want to be guilty of murder.
This has nothing to do with TRP or even r/pussypass. It's an honest to God mistake.

Damn , she was on some hallucinogens or something lol. If some demon women started pulling my hair, I wouldn't have sat there for 15 seconds and let her do that to my face. I'm usually not confrontational, but a drugged up bitch putting her dirty hands on me like that means I probably would've grabbed her from behind and thrown her to the ground as hard as I could. Then I would've walked away to another seat and hope the security don't arrest me lol. Good thing this guy had someone recording for evidence later on.

That guy didn't handle the police response properly at all.
The excerpt from this video shows exactly what to do should the police swarm onto you:

To be fair, self defense extends only as far as stopping the attacker. The girl walks away and the guy walks after her to continue the fight. Now he is the aggressor of this second fight.
If women (especially drugged up women) are "the most responsible teenager in the house," then it doesn't make sense to fight them on an equal level. It's about as silly as fighting a child or an animal.
How would you react in this situation?
The same way you would react if a drugged up 13 year old came at you - Leave the scene if you can, and restrain them in a safe manner if you can't and have someone call the cops.

Probably similar to that guy. But I wouldn't have waited that long when she was trying to choke and punch.

If she had grabbed me, I would have knocked her cold. I tell my 10 year old not to tolerate that kind of shit on his bus to school, for fuck's sake.

This is pathetic advice. I hope you don't tell your kid to "knock her out cold."
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
No, I tell him to warn them first. Violence only works for what it works for, in defense. Clearly, this is a case where defense would have been warranted.
I wouldn't have chased her down after she stopped, I would have stopped it immediately. She's a danger to the other people on the train too.
And who gives a shit what you hope? He's afraid to stand up for himself because of all the "trouble" he'll get into if he makes the kid on the bus stop hitting him. I'll raise my kid, thanks.

Defense is not "knocking her out cold." There are ways to restrain someone without causing trouble. If you "knocked her out cold," you would spend some time in prison, and then have to go to court. You would probably get away with it but you just created a mess for yourself.

That seems a little bit too alarmist. If someone attacks you, with tons of witnesses around, and you throw one punch, that's not going to net you jail time. You're thinking of questioning.
[–]DontBeAMangina 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Regardless, the outcome of throwing a punch is much worse than restraining her and calling for help.

I see what you're saying, I just have a different definition of "worse", I suppose. Being questioned by the police while on the train, having the witnesses there, would not be a big enough hassle for me to let someone just attack me.
Now, getting up and running after her so he could hit her more severely than she attacked him, that's not smart, and it isn't tough. He was just making up coward points.
We disagree, I think, because I'd much rather rely on my ability to stop a fight than I would the ability of someone to get there in time to "save" me.

It all depends on what kind of cop it is. But yeah, very situational.

The shittiest thing about this situation is that they both got $500 tickets for fighting in public
Now I'm sure she can pay it off easily, but the Native guy she attacked, I would imagine he would have a little harder time paying off a $500 ticket :(
I think what the police did was correct as what their view of the situation was, but I dont think the guy deserved the fighting in public ticket after that bitch attacked him and spilled his pringles.
The native population here has a history of violence and drug abuse (I live in the city where this happened) and are often quite belligerent to everyone, police or otherwise.
They made an assumption based on past history and profiled the guy, unfortunately the guy wasn't really in the wrong here.
If I was in that sitting there though, I would have probably left earlier as she didn't just flip out right at that moment, the lady recording got a video of her earlier acting weird. That being said, if she hit me in the face, I'd throw her down to the ground and restrain her.
