You're correct he did not die. He was hospitalized. Also, It's arguable that I'm a better package than her. In better shape, working out every other day, and career almost set, 2 years of medical school left. It wasn't a crying situation. It was coming to terms with the fact my father is getting weak and old and may soon die. I wanted some damn comfort for that.

Had a very similar experience. After a gruelling weekend with a terminally ill parent and a six hour drive (I drove because she was tired) I got repeatedly shouted at for sitting on the sofa instead of helping her cook.

Their love is so conditional that you have to soft next them when shit goes down. They'll insist on being involved, but they'll make everything worse. Women demand psychopathy in intense situations. They respond well to it. I've experimented around with flipping emotions on and off and I've found heartlessness is interpreted as strength by them, and normal emotional responses no matter how mild are interpreted as weakness. Women rely on us so much that when we have problems they're thinking "shit, who do I rely on now?!?!" and it becomes all about them and the shit they're in. They completely ignore your problem, they're focused on the fact that you having a problem causes them a problem because they are so reliant on your strength/ability to provide physically/emotionally. So rather than actually help you through your shit, they lose their shit instead. Take the "most responsible teenager in the room" principle and apply it to this. If you were a little kid (teenager seems too generous to be honest) and your parents were crying, you'd freak out and cry too. That's how women treat men who are showing weakness.
I believe women are pathologically selfish to an extent men are not. This is the darker side of their weakness and dependence, they're too weak to afford loyalty. If you think about it from an evo-psych perspective, it makes sense. Men are the experimental sex and stronger/superior to women in most ways, they can afford to take risks, are inclined to take risks and will probably survive if they fail. Men take more risks than women and are more likely to survive when taking a risk, hence men developed loyalty as an experimental mechanism. If betrayed, men would probably survive and have the logic to reason things out emotionally. Yeah they'd be damaged, but they could fight physically and reason psychologically and survive to see another day. Basically in a cost-benefit through man's evolution - loyalty turned out to be something worth keeping. Something that worked more than it failed (hence why we're not all DT and DTs are tops 2% of the population.)
Women on the other hand have less T so take less risks, they would have evolved in such a way that risk taking women would have been weeded out via natural selection due to their physical fragility. Being faultlessly loyal and risk-taking would have led to more women being killed by predators/men from enemy tribes because shorter legs = cannot outrun predators, weak musclature = cannot overpower predators. Hence women evolved not to take risks and to play it safe, to stay in groups (as we see them when they all fuckoff to the toilets) and they didn't develop loyalty but in it's place "pragmatic trust." They developed "attach yourself to the strongest man in the area and play it safe as fuck." If there were no strong men, they'd befriend the women and form a group, the bigger the better (safety in numbers.)
Note how most women are more superficially charming than men too. You need that kind of skill when you're weak as fuck and want powerful people to like you. You have to be able to "woo." Really, looking at women, that's what they specialise in. Women don't specialise in strength, they specialise in appealing to the likes and desires of those who are strong. They win people over and get on the winning team and keep a close eye on ensuring they stay on the winning team. Modern women only know how to "woo" with their bodies, but women of the past knew to "woo" with their personalities too. Again I think this is why women put so much energy into being fake, most women past their bullshit persona just aren't likeable people. So to get people to favour you, you have to pretend you're likeable. Do your shitty upward inflexion, pretend to be sweet and care about crap and yadda yadda. Woman's intrinsic need to make herself at least SEEM desirable both physically and psychologically is a survival mechanism, women aren't built to hunt/do life alone. WOMEN NEED RELATIONSHIPS, ESPECIALLY WITH MEN, TO SURVIVE. Please refer to the RPW hinting of this: "the rock in her storm."
A tiny minority of RP women will suck it up and help you back on your feet emotionally if something bad happens. Even they can only manage that for a short period of time though. They don't enjoy it, they hate it, but they do it because logically "they know it's the right thing to do." Those are the keepers, but you can't lean on them, the moment you lean on a woman due to emotional weakness sand begins trickling from an hourglass. That's measuring the amount of time you have left until she leaves your ass. These women will fuckoff too, even though they are quality. What a horrible, unsympathetic person. This is one of those times I believe it is acceptable for your frame to falter (as long as it doesn't degrade for too long), and one of the times she should step up and support. We don't ask them to do it often. She failed.

I've discovered women are absolutely NOT the source of care, solace, and comfort that their Disney reputation makes them out to be. They are cold, heartless, and generally "care" as much as their self-interest requires.
There are a few who absolutely are this caring type -- until they aren't, and that appears also to be entirely based on self interest, hypergamy, etc.

Edit: A long time lover and, I thought, close friend, whom in August I took care of after an operation, has been almost totally silent during a 5 day high-temperature event recently. The reason: Too occupied with a guy. Now, we're both non-monogamous, and both of us having multiple relationships is normal and not a big deal. Her being uncaring seems to be something new since finding this particular guy, moving in within about a month of forming their relationship. Now she apparently is being "good". She sometimes reads my posts. Hello, AWALT girl. Glad you found your BB.
